My rear is too stiff (that's what she said)

I'm wondering how to make the rear of my 2010 4Runner not so stiff. While in the backseat, it is constant bouncing over every little bump (fine for me, not so fine for the family). The previous owner put OME 90010 shocks and OME 887 coils on the front (no problem with the heavy front bumper), and on the back is OME 6008 shocks and I assume different coils (problem, since there's no extra weight). With this current setup, the rear is much higher than the front too. I don't have any plans to tow anything or haul heavy loads.
Besides driving around with 500lbs in the back, would I have to switch out the shock AND coil to something like the 60020 shock and Toytec Light Superflex coil? Or could I just replace the shock? Or just the coils? Pulled those models right from the OME link in the lift sticky thread.
Thanks in advance!

If you want to adjust the height you can just replace the coils. What do you do with the rig?

If you replace the rear coils, which sounds like what you need to do. You will have to remove the rear shock anyway. Shouldn't have to replace the shock but if they are really old it's not a big cost. Replacing things in the rear is very easy.

The OME nitrocharger shocks are made for loads....

I would start by just swapping out the shocks. Go with something different than OME. It's a super easy 1hr job... This will not impact the height, but will change up the ride.

If you are still unhappy, do the springs (which is a much more involved job).

OME is great stuff. Will last forever and do good over-landing. But does not offer the most comfortable ride.

SAW 1.5" coil (a.k.a Wheelers T12 coils) is probably the softest aftermarket coil you can get besides the stock ones.. You can probably do stock rear coils with spacers too, which gets you back to mushy land.

Take the shocks off, drive it around the block, and that will isolate if it's a shock issue or too much coil.
