I bypassed the radiator and chose to solely use the external cooler.

There's been some discussion about external cooler alone not being enough to cool the trans effectively and causing dramatic temp spikes, unless you went with something larger than the B&M 70268... Not sure how true it is, just thought I'd mention it.
