Loooks goood! As for the blue lights on your brush gaurd. Going with the blacked out look, maybe look into Hella black magics? It would fit the theme a little better, but it looks good!

Looks great, tell us about it.

I'll be the first to tell you, i dont know a lot haha but i'll tell you what I know. It was purchased about a year ago. It came with most everything on it and I honestly don't know much about lift kits and i really don't know what it has on it. I'd be very eager to find out if there's anyone of you that could help me out. The back sits about an inch higher than the front, and that really irks me. But anywhere here's what I know. It's an '01 SR5 4WD (of course) It has LED Tails in the back, I blacked them out myself with Nightshade. The wheels are the 16" Fj rims but blacked out. Tires are Mudawg 265s I believe. I purchased a pioneer radio and installed that myself around summertime. I added the Yak Rack and tire around Christmas time. It has a skid plate underneath, husky liner mats inside, and weathertech cargo mat in the back.

I also debadged the back and painted the 2 Toyota logos black. I added some Silverstar headlights around Christmas time as well. Also has anyone had experience taking the light off the brush guard? They look atrocious up close (all rusted out and only one works) I've looked at doing it a couple of times but I can't find a way to do it unless i completely take off the brush guard.

Looks great! Gotta love blacked out runners! What % tint do you have?

I just matched the front with the back. So I've read that's about 20%?? Not sure on that though. It just looks really dark because it's raining. You can see straight through it in the day. I've thought long and hard about getting 5% on it lol

should be a nut somewhere on the underside of the light mounting stud where it is mounted, just take that off and assuming they are mounted like the majority of aux lights they should slide out of the hole pre/post drilled for them

That's the thing, I can't fit a socket under there because of the "bottom lip" on the newer 3rd gens

Very nice rig man! As for the lights, if the mounting bolts are not within reach, you may have to just take the brush guard off. That being said, it won't be that hard to do. Just a few bolts I believe. Just make sure you either have a chain block or some kind of overhead lifting aparatus, OR someone else to hold it for you while you unbolt it.

Again, great looking truck man!

Here are a few more pictures I was able to take today. The two below are pictures of the suspension. I'd like to find out if those are stock coils on there or not, I wouldn't know so I was hoping maybe someone could help me out. There is a spacer on top.

That last pic doesn't look right. It almost looks like someone welded plates on the LCA shock mount. Anyone ever seen something like that?

Ya thats definately been welded. And it looks like it has the front suspension from a 4x2 Tundra to me. The weld must have been because a previous owner broke the bottom shock mounts somehow, though that seems unlikely. Or maybe it was done just for a lift, which would be flat out ridiculous

Mcaz5, awesome truck man. Its great to see another black one added to the forum. Looks really sharp. I wish I could have bought one already modded like that. But then again, modding is half the fun in owning a 3rd gen!

By the way, are you still able to contact the person you bought it from, assuming it was sold privately? If so you should ask them why they modified those bottom shock mounts.

The guy we purchased it from had absolutely no idea what he was doing with the thing. He said he barely drove it, so I doubt he did that. I had a buddy of mine that knows a lot about this type of thing look at it, and he said hed never seen anything like it. Also took it to a mechanic and he said the weld was solid and looked pretty safe.

I took my front lights off yesterday, they had been on since i bought the car and I really didn't like the look of them. Not to mention they started to rust and one didn't even work. I was left with major paint chipping on my brush guard as you can see below and wondering if I should just try and spray paint over it, or try something else? Any suggestions would be quite useful!
