F*ck Manuals!

Inverter Hardwired

So i did this mod over a year ago, but i finally took some pics for those who are interested.

So i bought some 8 gauge wire (covered in wire loom) ran it from the battery around the engine compartment, on the firewall till the passenger foot well and through the rubber fitting under the carpet and too the passenger seat, and velcro'd my old Husky 400 watt inverter to the carpet under the seat, and grounded it off to a seat bolt.

Looks good man. Can tell it's really being taken care of.
Thanks man.
Great job on the Plasti-dip! I've been thinking of doing this for a while now! How's your's holding up?
Its definetley worth it, im decent at spray painting and it looks stock the way it came out, no runs and such. It has lasted a 2 foot snowstorm, all the road salt, a ice/snow storm, plenty of rain water and dirt, and it is still intact and hasnt peeled. I would defintely reccomened it.

Great job on the inverter mod...I did a very very similar set-up on mine, also used the seatbelt bolt for ground..but I used my deck as the primary turn on switch in addition to the inverters main switch...other words, can't turn on the inverter unless my radio's on, also kills it when the radio's off.

Thanks,

The surprise snowstorm wanted my exhuast system to breath better so i get to the car this morning and see this, i tried plowing threw 20in of fresh powder, but it was stubborn and stayed on.

Ok so as we know its 2011, so my truck is 14 years old, like most 14 year old this is when puberty begins, and over the past few weeks ive been noticing the effects, First off his muffler dropped and now his voice is much deeper, And also some morning's he doesn't want to start up, it takes the battery a while to yell at the spark plugs to start, He is also eating more fuel than usual, but he's just pissed off he is doing city driving.

Heres some pics of the muffler dropping and video of the deeper voice:

What it now sounds like: (sorry again for the video, photobucket must be hosted in Australia or something)

Wow, that isn't rust on the undercarraige - that's cancer. All that snow, salt and grime really eats away these Toys really bad. My '88 SR5 had cancer like that, the engine was fine but the body went to sh!t.

That's not bad for frame rust, one of the guys on the Local offroad forum, as this Ford Excursion he just bought which was a Former Police vehicle. Here's a pic of the undercarriage:

Alot of rigs out here, look like that underneath. That's why I coated my undercarriage with Motor oil and grease.

Update on the exhaust system, today i bought an aftermarket version of OEM muffler and tailpipe for $199 with tax, i ripped my old muffler out and took some pics:
