just had a run in with a early to mid 90s probe, some idiot tried passing me on the right hand shoulder on a surface street here in vancouver this afternoon. well being as though his car was lowered and low to begin with i never saw him till he hit me. he said he"thought it was 2 lanes..." and i guess when i came around the corner and saw all the car parked on the side of the street thought he would just dart back in, great plan except my 4runner was there! fortunately i had just put on a set of 285 75 17 maxxis Bighorns and with my wheels(17" tundra) offset the tires stick out about 1.5" from the finders so he only made contact with the wheel, tire, fender flare, front bumper, lower valance, and my brush guard.
Its not bad, my bumper is now buckled in the middle and has red paint along the side corner of the bumper, lower valance and brush guard. my FR wheel is scuffed on the spokes (not sure if thats from wheeling it or this, but im gonna blame it on him, cause i just noticed it). my fender flare got ripped lose and i have red paint all along my tire. but if you are just looking at the runner, not inspecting it, its not even noticeable except for the red paint on the chrome bumper. now his probe didnt turn out so well. basically from the back of the RL fender all the way back its all caved in, had black swirl marks(from my tire) all along it, it ripped open his gas door(it wont close, he tried), ripped out his tail light assembly, ripped off his factory wing/spoiler and tore his rear bumper lose... i didnt think he was gonna stop, he was doing prolly 40-45(its a 25 zone) so i was just about to hit the strobes and chase him, but he pulled over after the line of parked cars he swerved to miss...
all said and done he totally admitted to being at fault, gave me all his info. i called my buddy who owns a couple body shops and asked his advice on how things should work out(he has a lot more experience dealing with insurance co and claims that i do), and he said they will probably end up cutting me a check for $4-600.
i wish i had pics of his car, but i felt bad enough for him that i felt no need to add insult to injury by snapping off some photos of his now trashed car... but here are some photos of the damage to my 4runner...

. so anyone have any other opinions of what to spend the $$$ on? just did a full tune up on it plugs, filters, o2 sensors, fluid changes...
