Those all look good.
After painting my CBI bumper with body color rattle can, I decided to tweek the look of the stock Sport Edition wheels a little.
I have since body colored the grille as well... Lookin good!

looks great man! i mentioned in another thread about doing this same exact thing to my SE wheels...i also considered blacking out the outer ring/trim but just between the spokes where you painted them

have you considered hitting the center cap as well?? but leave lug nuts silver

I took a pick of my stock wheel. Messed around in PAINT one day, trying all sorts of combinations..

These were my final 3. I went with the top.
I can always touch them up and go with the bottom...

What wheel wax did you use? I've got some purple wheel wax (Smartwax?) that's pretty worthless.

I just used Meguiars NXT paste wax that I had sitting in the basement. I've always used it and it works Pretty good for wheels that are clearcoatedq

Mine already had them on it when I bought it. Helps the stance with stock wheels, even with the newer wheels. Put the wheels and tires even with the flares.

I'm running 5100s too, but I'm not sure what coils

Long time lurker. First time poster. Obviously clueless. Need help!

Every post I've read says 5th Gen wheels fit on a 4th Gen. They all appear to have a center bore of 106.1mm diameter. I bought some 5th Gen wheels, had them powder coated, went to get them installed and the center bore on the new wheels are too small. No it's not the coating. What gives? Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated.

I have 2004 Limited. New wheels have 17x7j and 15 APH stamped on back. Pic attached.

I guess because it looks pretty thin around the center and they tried torquing the wheels on, which I thought would have scraped the powder coat off if it was close. The shop working on it didn't think it was the powder coating either. I've got it at home and am trying all of the wheels at each location. On RR. Seemed to fit with first test fit but had to give it a good knock to get it off.

Update: This was a reputable local shop. When they showed me that the new wheels didn't fit, they showed me how it wasn't sitting flush against the part outside the hub. The existing stock wheels sit flush against that same surface. I get the same results at home.

Seymour, thanks for challenging my assumptions. Took a Dremel to the center of each wheel and it looks like they fit. Now I have bare steel that may rust, but that's tomorrow's problem.

To anyone considering a similar upgrade, mask the center so it doesn't get coated. Tolerances are tight.

Hopefully my purchase/install experience with 5th gen 4Runner wheels (and tires) on my 4th gen 4Runner (2007 SR5 4WD) will be helpful to someone else. This forum continues to be a great source of info.

Old Wheels and tires
- 2007 4Runner stock wheels (16")
- 265/65R16 tires

New Wheels and tires (takeoffs)
- 2018 4Runner stock wheels (17")
- 265/70R17 tires (per the person selling the takeoffs, the tires were removed from her 5th gen 4Runner rims on purchase with intent of selling wheels and tires separately. No TPMS sensors were on the wheels.)

New TPMS sensors
- 4 Denso 550-0103 TPMS sensors from Amazon.com

Tire Shop
- Costco - $15 (plus tax) per tire to install (remove old wheels & tires, unmount old tires, mount tires on new wheels, program/install TPMS sensors, balance new wheels/tires, and install on my 4Runner)

- No mods to suspension (no lift kit)
- No hub spacers
- No mods to brakes
- And I am happy to report...no rubbing and TPMS warning light is off.

Sand paper might have been a better idea than a dremel, and aren't the rims aluminum not steel? Aluminum doesn't rust
