my v6 runner vs the v8 tahoe

OK, very important.

My favorite car buddy has a v8 Tahoe, and I have a v6 2005 4runner.

Which would win in a drag race, assuming we both had an equal start and all. He is all stock, I'm all stock except an aFe intake.

Who wins?

Ok then when I was stock I was able to stomp several vortecmax (6.0) v8 silverados. Now I'm able to beat lightly tuned 350 z's, mustangs, and sti's. The thing in your favor is weight. Be sure to do it at the track.

My guess is the runner but the brand new tahoes with the 6 speed are pretty quick. Depends on what year tahoe. I believe 6 speeds started in 09...

STI's run low 13's. There is no way you're anywhere near that without boost...New 5.0 mustangs are low 13s as well. and older 350z...you could probably take

i can beat any 350z, mustang, or sti across a creek or over rough terrain any day of the week. just not on sunday because thats football day!!

I'm gonna favor towards the 4Runner, the Tahoe is a much larger vehicle and those larger V8's have a lot of power, but they seem a hair sluggish. I know I can get my V8 to 60 usually around 8 seconds, sometimes a hair less, a hair more.

Seems to be and its in 100 degree weather, although now I'm hitting 14.5 without the hitch. I'm thinking of running E85 for its cooling properties and see how that does along with completing my exhaust. I am bias so I would say 4Runner… but it will be close..
However, if you have any trouble… send your buddy to Texas and I will smoke him for you and it will not matter what year Tahoe he has. :biggrin2:

I don't think E-85 will help you. When I ran it in my Ford truck it was a dog.

Sorry those z's and mustangs drivers can't drive. Obviously if the driver can't drive then you will be faster since your just mash the pedal and go, but I've seen much faster mild modded z's and mustangs than that. With a good driver in those cars you'll lose.
