Final Update:
I FIXED IT!!!
So it became obvious that it was a misfire, it started happening all the time at idle but never during acceleration or cruising. Although the original issue was the"kick" while going up a slight hill. It was close to time for the plugs....but not like right at it. As soon as I took out the first one I knew they were the problem... They were totally shot. One in particular, the driver side middle one, was super shot and I believe this was the one that was missing.
So chalk it up to me not looking at basic stuff first... Doh. Still gonna change out the shift solenoids and injectors because... Well shit why not?
Update. The issue has changed a bit, I now get these very tiny feeling kicks when I'm slowly backing up sometimes. Rarely, I will feel one when shifting from p to d, d to r, etc. Again she shifts fine while driving. PLUS, she's developed a random stutter during idle that is definitely coming from the engine. They are very quick and seldom. I've already replaced the wires and coils.
Anyway...
I went ahead and ordered a set of shift solenoids from Rock Auto or whatever it is called. And I am ordering a set of injectors soon. Any other ideas? I hope the TC is fine...
Original issue:
Started to get this strange kick in the driveline when I go up hill. I lubed up the driveshafts but that didn't seem to have any effect on it. Honestly I wonder if it's the torque converter lock? It only does it in 3rd or 4th while going up hill. Also, a few months ago I had a one time code that mentioned the lockup solenoid, though it never came back. I'm wondering if I should replace it if it's starting to go out.
Found the code, P0773, solenoid E I think. Is this the lockup one?
2000 4Runner SR5 V6 4x4 Auto, 149,500ish miles
Ideas?
Note:. Other than this random occasional kick up hill she shifts fine.
