Mystery Dents Solved; Care to Take a Guess?

I recently noticed two dings/dents on my hood. Couldn't think for the life of me what the heck happened because while I may not be the most observant person, I'm pretty sure a rock or road debris hitting my hood would grab my attention.

The cause finally hit me (no pun intended) and it was, well, unusual. Thought we might have some fun posting guesses and who knows, maybe this is more common than I thought. And it wasn't hail.

This time of year I would guess you parked under a Walnut or Oak (acorn) tree.

Well, it didn't take long to get a winner. Yep, we have an 80-foot oak near the driveway. I had backed out of the garage while I cut crown molding for a project and apparently a couple of acorns from the tree's higher reaches nailed it while I was inside nailing up the crown. Got a quote of $140 from a paintless dent repair place. Debating whether it's worth the money to get them fixed, though I know the dents will bug me every time I see them.

Since you guys are this sharp, when I bought it, the truck had a vertical crease about 2.5 inches long under the right rear window. We'll never know, but any guesses on this one?

Why don't' you try repairing them yourself first? The PDR guys would probably push them from behind or use hot glue to attach a nail (or whatever their nail like things are called) and pull them out.

Pretty sure mine has this to. I assumed it was on both sides and that it was supposed to be there, but now I need to look again.

Edit: Nevermind, I thought you were talking about that long crease parallel to the bottom of the window. Now I see the dent on your truck.

My guess is the crease is from something falling against the side of the truck. They polished out any scratches or paint transfer from the object but left the dent.

A small dent in hood is better then having, mice or rats chewing up your wiring.
