Mystery Wire Harness

Yesterday I was finishing up my Rigid Dually installing and was running some wires behind the dash when I found 2 wire harnesses wrapped in foam not being used. They were behind the lower steering wheel panel next to my Auto LSD switch.

Does anyone know what these are for?

Ive got a 2006 2WD V6.

Thanks in advance

Ive got a 2wd so I dont think its a diff lock.

One might be a the inverter though. Mine did not come with that option, but I have the other wire harness in center console too.

just because you have a 2wd doesn't mean they don't use the same harness for all the models just food for thought :hat:

Connector

Is this the factory connector for the trailer brake connector? Seems to be in the right place according to the FSM.

I guess it could be but there are two separate harnesses in there. Still trying to figure out what the other could be for.

i have a 4wd and i have three buttons there ones differential lock one is traction control and then vcs or whatever the hell it is if i am not mistaken

Well there are only two extra harnesses in there, and I dont have any of those switches you do.

Your trailer brake plug is white and has more wires to it. The wires you are seeing have the flat black connectors used in the switches, so they are pre wired, I know for a fact one of them is center diff lock, reason I know is when I did the 4x4 conversion on my 03 Limited the plug was already there as well as the DAC in the center console by the seat heaters. The other one is VSC switch, and to tell which is which you need to see the buttons, they only clip into the buttons they are designed for if I'm not mistaken.

Hope this helps.

Thanks man thats what I needed.

Ive been planning on doing the VSC mod.

Any idea if simply plugging in the switch will give me that option?

I'm not sure, when I did my swap, I put the 4wd ECU, 4wd transmission, and 4wd gauge cluster in. So when I plugged in center diff lock, DAC, and VSC off, they all worked. I don't know if they would have worked if. Did not have the 4wd parts installed.

The switches are not too expensive, I guess it's worth trying.

Good luck.

If anyone has any of these switches and could possibly take a picture of the back of them that would be great.

I just want to verify before I buy one.
