I hear ya! This one wasn't too bad at all. A lot easier than I thought but looking at what gatrose went through, I could see how hard an 03 would be.

Seeing that you are from Nebraska and clearly more savvy then I with vehicle modifications, how much would you charge to make me a Satoshi grill just like yours? I'm from West Des Moines and have an 2006 v6.

We drive through Des Moines all the times. I have a cabin located in Brooklyn, on Holiday Lake. You really could do this. It was such an easy process.
Are you thinking of purchasing another grille or are you taking yours off to do it?

I would just do it on mine. . how necessary/much fibroglass bondo work and expertise was needed to mount the mesh into the grill?

I didn't use any bondo type material to do mine. If you look back through my build thread you'll see the steps that were taken.
I took the grille off, cut it apart, sanded it, formed the mesh with a pre-cut board, primed and painted the inside of the grille where it was sanded, primed and painted the grille mesh and then formed it/wrapped it around the grille and used automotive glue to hold it in place, then added the emblem.

I see that now sorry. So did you just form the piece of wood from an original piece of cardboard and tracing out the lines?

Kind of. I just took the cut grille and traced the inside of it onto the board, about 1/4 inch in, to accommodate for the space of the mesh. I didn't want that flat look of the mesh on the grille, I wanted more of a 3D look.

Sliders have been prepped and painted. I cleaned the oil off with paint thinner and then painted a couple coats of the Hammered Black finish. I actually really like the way this paint looked when it dried.
Will hopefully have them welded on Monday.

Thanks, Momo! I think so too. I never really liked the looked of that yellow tint.

It actually is a really dark grey when its dry, even though the can says black. It matches my wheels perfect, because they're dark grey as well.
I went with the Trail Gear sliders.
