Yeah good call. Decide on BL before you do your sliders.
The only thing a BL will afford you is a little more clearance for bigger tires. So the question is, do you plan on going bigger? If not, then there is no need to lift the body unless you just want to go 1" higher. You don't gain any additional ground clearance with a BL except for maybe a slightly improved approach angle.
If you want to see what difference 1" BL will make on a tire close to your size, just look at my build thread back when I did mine. There is a before and after shot in there.
Oh and a BL has nothing to do with UCA's. They're independent of each other.
And regarding what Austin said about fan & shroud clearance, I did not have any clearance issues with mine... Until last week when I installed my bumper. Had to do some trimming... weird. Yes it's installed, no I haven't posted pics... Yes, I'm lazy

It's pretty easy to sell tires on craigslist, specially when they've got good tread an low miles on them. It will certainly look better with more rubber in the wheel wells now and with the body lift even more so lol.
but you could get a set of larger tires and easily sell the set you have on craigslist locally and not deal with shipping or on this forum to a member who may want them as well. but all it all its what you feel is going to look best

if you're buying a body lift for more clearance why would you buy new tires that are bigger? its kind of like taking a step back. I understand the want to be taller, but if you take away the actual overall clearance you gain by doing a BL, whats the point?
Itll look great still with the tires you have now, you will also gain more room to stuff them when needed.

I'm a fan of BLs if only you have a suspension lift first. I have the roger brown 1.5" BL and love it!
I'm running 35s though so I had to do it to make them clear.

I'm still trying to understand it. So as PD says, it doesn't actually help with more ground clearance, only wheel/tire clearance.
And Austin is saying that it may look better to fill that clearance in with bigger tires (which I agree).
And LTDSC is saying that if you gain the tire clearance, that it's pointless to get bigger tires?
Am I understanding that right?
Ultimately what I'm looking for is bigger. Something beefier. I don't think I can get much bigger of a tire under there the way it sits now, right? I'd need to do something to actually be able to clear 33's.

In a way you get clearance however it's just with your body. Your axles and everything underneath will stay the same. You just won't scrape your paint as much when climbing over rocks.

Ok, that makes sense. So is that really the only reason most do it, is to clear bigger tires?

Basically yea...and then depending on the tire size that will give you some more clearance as well. After I went from just a little bigger than 32s to 35s (and already had the BL on) my diff got a couple more inches from the ground so...yes it is to fit bigger tires but bigger tires do help with lift.

Well LTD made a good point in that if you're scrubbing inside the fenders at full tuck, you gain a little clearance there.
Otherwise you're literally just pushing the body away from the frame. So all of your low slung items (axles, skids, frame, cross-members, etc.) are still right were you left them.

It is a good point. Its a very delicate discussion just because its a very personal decision too as is anything with your truck.
Thanks man! Ive been unable to do a lot of work on it due to a fractured tibia so the heavy lifting and bending is a bit out of the question. Should only be our a couple more weeks so hopefully Ill get back to working on it soon!

Yeah, I'd planned on doing it this afternoon, but just ran out of time. I sent Austin a cell phone pic, but all the ones I took of the install look terrible.
I've got to dig into it tonight to do the J.A. fog-light mod, flasher relay swap, and spool my winch line. That's been the big hold up because I sent my shiny fairlead off to be anodized black and just got it back today. Didn't want to show pics with an unspooled winch and no fairlead. I'll try to take some tomorrow to upload.

I'm guessing your biggest point of rubbing with your wheel's low offset (-12 mm I think) is the BM, which isn't going anywhere with a BL. How much clearance do you currently have there? With my 285 STTs and -6mm offset (8.5" wide), I barely clear under flexing. Of course, you can always just chop it and be done with it.
If I were you and had the 18's, I would go with the 295/65/18 Duratracs. I almost went with 18" wheels just for those tires but decided to stick with the 33s and 17 combination. However, since they actually measure over 33" (33.3x11.8), a BMC would definately be required.
FWIW, I also considered a 1" BL for a while but have since decided against it. I really only wanted it for the extra height (visually only of course) and also because I was hesitant to do any trimming on my fenders. However, I have since got over that "fear" and haven't considered once since. On the visual note, I was not fond of the extra exposure the frame gets with 1"+ of BL. This could also be "covered" to some extent with your sliders. As everyone says, its completely up to your preference unless you're planning on running huge tires (~35").

35's, probably not. 33's are about as big as I'd want to go. I just wanted it a bit more taller and before I put those sliders on, I wanted to be sure.
I really like the Duratrac tires and those along with 17s were on the list but one of my friends here gave me an exceptional deal on his wheels and tires. They're much better than I had on and It'd be a while before I could cough up a grand for a new set.

No, I didn't. I was giving it time to let it settle and haven't gotten out to see where it's at. Last it sat, the front was 1" lower then the back.
