Mytoy4 Build Thread

Hand washed it today to get at least most of the salt of. Pissed me off because I used a tire brush to scrub the tires/wheels and by just bumping the center caps it knocked 3 of them off breaking one of them.
I'm going to email the company to see if they'll replace it.
It's ridiculous. I've only had them on a couple of months and hand washing them shouldn't do this.

Good day today!
My center caps have been permanently attached, so no more worrying about them falling off. Never did hear back from the company.

My sliders have been removed. I found out that I can have them extended. I have a connection to a guy that builds roll cages and he thinks he has the size DOM tubing that I need. If not, I've found it online for a really good price. Beats ordering them new. So I'll have them extended and welded back on. Love my husband!

awesome! that's a way better option! look into adding some reinforcing plates to the frame and gussets to help the sliders transfer any loads back to the frame like that .pdf I sent you

1/4 inch thick plate is what came with my 4x's 3/8 inch thick would be overkill

you can pic up short pieces of flat stock from Home Depot or lowes but I'm sure the welder your working with should have that material around how soon will they get done?

Thanks, Austin! That's very helpful. I have to do all this research on my own so this helps me save some headache looking for things I don't know much about.

If the guy has what I need the plan is to start it this coming week. If not, then I have to order what I need online and then plan to start the week it comes in.

no prob, if you have to order the plating let me know I can get the steel for free you'd just have to pay shipping to get it there but they would fit in a priority mail box and I can pre cut the plates and gussets

the only DOM I have access to is 1.5 diameter 1/4inch wall so it's a little much for sliders lol but I can def hook you up with the plates If you need it just shout at me

Thank you aha2988 for sending me parts for my sliders!!! Really appreciate all the help

I've decided to sell my sliders as they are. Not going to go through the hassle of stripping the paint and extending.
Plan is just to purchase new from 4x Innovations and start over.
Thanks aha2988 for all the guidance.

Gonna go to San Francisco with my girlfriend and then I'll move forward when I get back. Hope to take it off road for the first time this summer.
