hate to hear that happened for sure it sucks to watch a hail storm not being able to get your car out of the storm.

That's exactly what I'm going to do It's at the shop now so we'll see what the total damage was and if it'll be PDR or an actual repaint.
What gets under my skin most is that it happened while I was at the mall. I NEVER go to the mall. I HATE the mall. :frusty:

Very sorry to read about your unfortunate encounter with mother nature...I don't get terrible hail storms around here, but I do know that helpless feeling of watching your vehicle get hammered by all that hail and not being able to do a single thing about it

Hopefully most of that can be corrected by PDR, and if not at least you get a nice fresh coat of paint right? I'm sure it'll be looking better than new once you get it back!

So so true. This was my sign!
You're right though, it's more than likely to get a full coat of paint. Even the left side of it got beat up pretty bad.
Satoshi got beat up, but it's easily fixable.

I'm really excited that my front bumper will hopefully get fixed. Some nut job drilled the license plate into the wrong spot and if that wasn't bad enough, he didn't even do it straight. It bugs the crap out of me!
Also, that bug deflector damaged my hood by rubbing paint off, so that'll be fixed as well.
So yes, maybe God was doing me a favor and this is his way of paying me back for going to that dreaded mall :shrug:

Well actually, PD, I had mentioned that maybe we should just replace my front bumper while it's in the shop. My thought behind it was entirely to replace with a new factory bumper because that would take care of the license plate issue.
His thought right away was an aftermarket He didn't even have to say anything... I understood his thoughts about that loud and clear just by the look on his face out:

I do, Momo but I'm afraid that I don't have the setup to handle it. My lift kit was bought with the intention of never putting one on.
My husband would literately divorce me if I told him I needed a new lift kit to support the aftermarket bumper.

He made a comment about how almost everything on that 4Runner has been replaced at least once, but a lot of things twice.

I had the grille painted twice, then I took it all apart for the Satoshi.
I had the hood painted twice and then found out the Bug Deflector did damage.
I bought new wheels and tires and in less than a year turned around and replaced them.
I bought my spacers and then took them off and sold them.
I put LED's in and now I want whiter ones.
Yikes! It's a wonder I'm still married :behindsofa:

This is just the nature of modifying a truck to custom fit your wants, desires, and attributes. It's what we all have gone through

PD started with a spacer lift and now he has fox coil overs and OW rear coils with 5100's

I started with OME then over time swapped shocks, springs, and now front coil overs.

We all know your dealing with the miss purchase of short sliders and now are having to go back to the drawing board.

It is frustrating. Hell I've had to go in an out of my rear axle about 6 times since I installed the locker to get everything right and leak free. The only thing you can focus on is A.) your making the truck what you want it to be B.) your living and learning as you do it.

yeah I did move back home for a couple months but I still have my 4runner lol and I've moved back in with my wife lol

your right about it being normal for "most" guys (as they're some who don't know what a wrench is lol) to spend mass quantities of time in the shop.

I definitely know it's hard to convince others of that, specially trying to justify my expenses on my truck to my wife who is an extreme penny pincher lol she continuously harps on the ammount I've put into the 4runner and not into the house or something that she can enjoy as well. My best argument against that is all the fun we've had together off-roading and meeting new friends like PD an his wife through the 4runner. Without my truck I'd have no reason to find this forum and probably would have missed out of the friendships I've gained.

Its hard to grasp the whole picture of the idea of spending money on a truck but there are many benefits that come with the costs and labor.

you have the toytec ultimate correct? those have adjustable coil overs so you should be able to add weight and just adjust the coil overs to get the height back.

If you like the look of the demello bumpers it is much lighter weight than all the other bumpers available.

you may have the option to get the bumper if your really interested.

I was just about to say that Demello is now making aluminum versions of their bumpers which would be perfect. If you get one of those and paint it white, that would look really nice.
