Hey Guy!

Totally forgot about that text message. Still makes me laugh! Have to say that I miss it tons, but rest assure I'm on the lookout now for something new to build :)
Love seeing it and can't wait to watch you grow it even more. Couldn't have picked a better home... with Jackson and all ;)

Jackson loves it obviously! He used to be somewhat hesitant to jump in the back but now every time he see me reaching for the back gate he basically just flys into the truck haha

Welcome!!

Absolutely HORRIBLE Mytoy4. . .but hilarious haha.
Maxweiner welcome to the club, you really did get a great vehicle that was properly babied. Sidenote can we just talk about the difference though of going from the Audi to a 4runner?!? But in visiting friends in DC and seeing how they park there I could see how the 4runner would be significantly better!

Again congrats and keep the awesome pictures coming!

Yeah you can only get so much info from the person selling the car and carfax and all that stuff but having the build thread was awesome! it was basically the ultimate carfax. Plus Terri and I exchanged tons of texts and spoke on the phone for a while about the car. Although most of the texts were dog pictures and random stuff it really gave me a good idea about her as an owner and a person. She is the best in both categories.

Audi vs 4runner comparison: only thing i miss about the audi is highway driving. That car would not quit. I had a 6 speed manual and you could be in any gear at any rpm and floor it and it would just go and go. If i needed to get into a tight spot in order to get to an exit in time it was no problem in the Audi which was nice. Obviously the 4runner isnt a speed demon but in every other category it is superior. Ive always had smaller cars so the 4runner has been a delightful change of pace.

Oh and luckily i live outside the city! The 4runner hasnt even been in DC once yet! i take the train a lot and also have a daily driver which is nice.

Oh yeah and I put on a rola rack recently with the low pro mounts. I used to work at a ski shop when i was younger so those guys still hook me up sometimes. i was able to get an old snowboard rack for $5 so i just have to attach it to the rola basket. besides that I think im going to order this...

Although you guys could probably inform me on whether or not to put that type of mount on the roof.

Crappy rack pics!

Also, Terri did you put this extinguisher in here or does everyone have one?

I removed the panel in the rear by the passenger rear wheel and saw it in there.

we should hit the trails sometime. there is a VA thread on the off road section and we tend to get out once a month or so in GWNF

Yeah, it was just a small one I stuck in there. Rack looks good!

Started my Satoshi grille tonight.
It's not complete yet. I still need to sand the inside of the grille where it was cut apart, have it painted black, shape the mesh for a bit more of a 3D look and put it all back together. Pretty good for just one evenings work so far.

Is it pretty time intensive to pull the grill out? Or is it something I'd be able to do fairly quickly. I'm looking to plasti dip mine and delete the chrome.

Please welcome the newest addition to my garage (minus the luggage thing)! I've been looking for several months now for a Tacoma and ran across this. For the price I paid, I couldn't pass it by. 2008 Sport with 98K miles, sunroof, super clean, no rust (except some on the frame) and no accidents. I got it for $12K over in Illinois.

I can't drive it quite yet as its sitting on studded tires, which are illegal in Nebraska.

Not sure what's in the plans yet. Fresh new canvas :artist:

Congrats! So glad you're back in a 4Runner!

You scored big time, too. We paid $18K in late 2014 for our '07 Sport with 96K (market is smokin' hot for 4WD 4Runners in the Southeast).

Looking forward to seeing what you do with it.
