Yeah, the sport are 17s. Not sure which tire I'm going to put on yet. I would really like to put the spacers on too.
No, no lift for me...I don't think. I really don't know a whole lot about lifts yet but I do like the look of the ones that are lifted just some.
Funny you say that about the white runners, I actually wanted silver. Silver would be my choice but I got this one at a pretty good price since the original ower had it on a 1 year lease. Couldn't pass it up!

AVS Bugflector II is now on. Honestly, I think it's something you really have to get used to. Right now I don't care to much for it. It sticks out a lot further then I thought it would.

Factory 3M thing? Not sure I know what you mean.

No, no bra. I decided against it. They don't make them for the grill. They make them for every part of the front end around the grill, but not the grill. It's the grill that gets hit the hardest so I'm hoping the bugflector helps against that.
I really wanted the clear bra, but really there's no point.

I went to the Toyota dealership this past weekend to look at gen5. They had one listed a completely loaded one on their site, even 3rd row seating for $37K. I wanted to check it out. Found out that they posted pictures of this limited but on the site called it an SR5. Can you say bait and switch?!? Pissed me off.
Anyway, I noticed they had one there with a clear bra. I didn't even notice it until I read it on the window sticker. Looked nice!

The front plate is mounted too high. The top holes of the plate should screw into the lower bumper grille area and not in the painted surface. The bottom of the plate is suppose to rest on the raised nubs on the painted surface under the lower front grille.

I did notice that when I bought it, but the holes were already drilled. I'm wondering if it was the same issue I see with the gen5 where the dealers are drilling the holes in the wrong spots. We're required to have plates on front and back so I left it as is.

You know now that you say this, I really notice how off it is. I never realized how 'off' it was until I went and looked at some photos of other 4runners. It really makes me question dealers. I'm assuming the dealer did this, but I guess it could have been the original owner.
Now it bugs me... and really don't think it's worth the time, efforts and money to fix it. :bash:

I hope it's not the dealer. There's a TSB on how to mount the front plate for the 4th gen, as the holes that are molded into the bumper are too wide for US license plates. The TSB tells the dealer where to re-dill the holes accordingly in the lower grille area.

Nice catch there Uneek. When I first saw the plate in the pics I thought "looks kind of odd there". But I didn't think much more of it. After you posted that it was mounted too high I took a closer look. Not only was it mounted in the wrong place, but the person who decided to send two screws into that perfectly good bumper, also lined it up crooked!:bash:

Since the dealer has to sell the car with both plates mounted, they had the lot boy (not sure what they're called) install it. He probably stood there for about 20 minutes scratching his head wondering how to complete this highly complex task. After mustering up every brain cell he had (at least the ones not burned out by THC), he skillfully drove two screws into the front bumper. After which he proudly walked away thinking, "I can work for NASA.":banana:

Thats hilarious! They are called "porters". I work at a BMW stealership and most of the porters are about as smart as a bucket full of hair! I call them lot jockeys, and yes I've seen them do some dumb stuff, cost us lots of money!

Luckily, my cars have not come in contact with them, or if it did, some brighter ones. I've heard many stories, most typically included unwanted optional detailing or cosmetic upgrades which results in the car spending some time with the bodyshop to correct.

Sport wheels have arrived and Hankook Dynapro ATMs have been ordered. Thinking about doing a 1" lift. Need to read up some.

What size tires you going with? I did a daystar 2.5/1.5 and I felt that it was perfect. Not too high but still doesnt look like a soccer mom SUV. It looks like thats the way it shouldve come from the factory.
