N-Fab Nerf-Step Running Boards

I had a 2009 Tacoma and bought the 2" version of these NFABs but returned them as they make a 3" Version for the Tacoma. The 3" main tube are the only ones to get. The 2" was just too girly and frankly did not improve the look. The 3" made the truck look very nice.

It appears NFAB only offers the 2" main tube version of these for the 4Runner.

Besides, NFAB, who makes a more beefy side step?

When you fit it up to the body you will see where they are. They are there to keep the threaded holes clean. The kit should come with new bolts to go in the holes. Keep the old bolts just in case like me, you decide to go another route later. You can restore it back to the factory look then.

Just got the NFabs, went to remove the stock bolts but not even the full torque on my Dewalt could get them out! Brand new 2016 SR5!! Gonna have a find a ratchet set and use some elbow grease...

Did you ever get the bolts loosened ?

I just installed mine .. took about 30 min. I didn't have running boards before so I didn't have to remove anything before putting these on.
Hopefully they hold up !!

I have the 3" and like them a lot. They are beefy-er than the 2" bars without much added weight (only +13lbs total). From those I've seen in person, the gap from the tube to the rocker panels is much smaller with the 3" bars, and therefore sits tighter to the rocker panels. The install was incredibly easy and didn't require any modification. Simply removed the stock OEM running boards and installed the N-Fabs.
