Name this plug???

1986 22RE. This plug is coming out of the harness just next to the cold start injector. I cannot seem to find a home for it, but it does not seem to cause any issues not being plunged in.

any ideas..

Just a guess off the top of my head, it's a part of the harness that goes to the transmission or transfer case either for the reverse lights or the 4wd indicator light in your dash.

I believe it is for the EGR temp sensor on a newer motor, we have a 93 ish 22RE motor in an 85 and the EGR has a pig tail off it. but the 85 has no provision for it. Truck isn't here so I can't post a pic of the plug. Just my guess

that sound like it is at least in the right area. it is near the EGR valve (sorta)

if you get a chance and could look for me, that would be great.

soon as the boy stops running the roads, I will get you a pic. I checked the 86 TFSM and it show no temp sensor for your year, but shows them on 94 cars
