Got real into building out the 4Runner these last few months.

Head Unit upgraded to a Sony AX210 for CarPlay. So far underwhelmed by CarPlay, but it’s a nice unit. Pics when I remember to get them.

Drove up to Knoxville and had sparky do a cluster swap. Grabbed a pic when I hit 200k!

Decided I wanted some 285s and 17in wheels. Went with SCS Ray10s 17x8.5 -10 Offset. Wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70r17. Went back and forth on RGs it Wildpeaks, but I’m glad I went with the RGs. Previous tires were C load. Went with a P rated tire this time for cost and to see if I could tell a difference with the driving I mostly do. It’s a much nicer ride. Shaved a decent amount of weight with this tire setup. Previous wheel/tire combo is up for sale.

Have also added the Anzo headlights and lamin-x foglight covers. The headlights have been on for maybe 2 months and leaked this week. Will go back and seal them soon.

Also, rola rack I got as a Christmas gift with low mounts. Wrapped the fairing in carbon fiber.

Looks really sharp! I tried to put the protective film on my headlights when they were new last year. Can’t remember what brand I bought (maybe Laminex), but the material was very thick, and I just could not get the excess on the compound curves to shrink enough, so I got frustrated and ripped it off without bothering to even try the second one. As it turned out, mine leaked after a couple of months too, and I’ve been fighting the problem for many months. Tried everything from heat, to siliconing EVERY seam, including the the big rubber bulb donuts, and used Teflon o-ring lube on the bulb seals themselves. Nothing works for very long. I’m convinced it has to be a flawed vent or something I can’t seal. Hope you have better luck with your aftermarket lights!

I resealed my OEM lights earlier last year with the Morimoto buytl. Baked the lights, opened them up and got the old stuff out and put the new stuff it. It worked great, but it is a long process. Only did it to paint my OEM lights, but sounds like I may need to do that with these also. Thanks for the headsup!
