I am new to this forum, and I love it. I just sold my 2003 Tundra that was hard to see go. I have been a member of Tundra Solutions since I had it and just made the move over to this. I am just about ready to make the purchas of a new 2006 Limited V8 4Runner but have a couple of questions. I have decided on all the options and color apart from one, to get the navi system or the 6-disc CD changer, and these are my questions:

1. How well does the navi really work?
2. Is bluetooth available on the 6-disc or only the navi, and does it work with all cell phones that are bluetooth enabled or just some?
3. with the 6-disc you get 2 more speakers, are they missed that much when you get the navi?
4. does sattelite radio work with both of them?

thank you soooo much for your help, I cant wait to get her. I will post pictures ASAP! this will be my second 4runner. I had a 2000 for three years and loved it!

The Navi is excellent. A vast improvement from earlier models. You will get a 4-Disc changer, so 4 vs. 6 is not a huge loss. Bluetooth is also a big plus. A "few" complain that they are are on speaker when taking through then Nav system, but whatever, it's so much safer. There is an address book transfer function, but it does not work with a blackberry. If you want your phone to transfer its address book, it must support the object exchange (OBEX) mode. BB's unfortunately do not. Hands free and dialing from the Navi panel work perfectly, though. Go for the Nav system... Can't go wrong, esp this year. Those two extra speakers are for "back seat riders." I'll never be one of those in my car:) Let me know if you have any questions.. Happy to answer them all....

Thx

CHANGER

I CANT FIND ANYWHERE WHERE IT SAYS THAT THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM COMES WITH A 4-DISC CHANGER. IS IT IN-DASH? AND ALSO WITH YOUR NAVIGATION CAN YOU HAVE SATELLITE RADIO ADDED TO IT? IF SO XM OR SIRIOUS???

THANKS

The changer is in dash...... the satellite unit is not available yet for the system. I signed up for Siruis 4 months ago and love the service but do not want to put the radio in my new car. I suspect that the factory sat add-on will be XM:(. I've got a couple of hours to kill and a camera if you want some pics of screens on the nav unit.

that would be fantastic if you could do that! i really love sirious as well and on the 05 navi they say you can connect it, but we will just have to see what they do with the 06, XM is better then nothing i guess. isnt there a SAT button on the navi though?

thanks!

you can do siruis through the aux input in the center console, but i want it on the screen... i'll take some pics right now...

screen

i really would like to have it on the screen. several people that have the 05 have hooked it up so that it works with the display, but that isnt out for the 06 yet???

the 06 unit is totally different than that in the 05. Screen resolution is higher, bluetooth built-in, 4 disc changer, etc... the respose time seems much better too. When my truck arrived at the dealership, all of the salesmen were fiddling with the nav unit for hours.

yea it really sounds great, i just would love to be able to have satellite on it! even if it is XM, if i could use the screen instead of having to put it in the glove box and switch it back and forth with my ipod it really would be great! on the 05 you can control the ipod and the sat from the display, i am sure it will eventually be that way on the 06 too... I HOPE!

other than that how are you liking your truck? i am having a hard time choosing the color i want, but that is a minor detail!!

Brett,

Took the pics but the battery in the camera is dead now, so a quick charge and you'll have em. I have a 6MP camera so i'll have to resize the images, but can email them to you in full resolution. If you want to talk about the specifics, you can hit me on the cell at (843) 200-0122. Should take 15 min for the camera to charge.

As for the truck, I'm loving it. Came from a 2002 black Volvo S60 T5. I know... never say never, but i'll NEVER own a black car again. They look soooooo nice when clean, but clean only lasts about 1 day. Went with titanium silver on the 06.

i would love to give you a shout, but i am in mexico, so it would be a bit of an expensive phone call!

thanks for taking the pics. is there anyway you could send me some of the back up mirrors in the rear? also did you get the fin on the back end, i cant decide if i want that or not. i really do hope they come out with something that will let us use sat and ipods better.

i am debating between the shadow mica and the titanium. i just got rid of a black truck and never want black again, but it is soooo pretty! i figured the shadow might be a little tough to keep clean, but not as tough as black and still look sharp. have you seen it in person at all?

the backup mirrors? I'll take a pic of those. Kinda useless with the backup camera though... I like the Mica as well, but a little too close to black for me. Light gray shows no dirt. I've got unlimited free intl long distance if you still want to discuss. Also, don't know if you have seen the trim on the 06 Ltds yet, but it's an awesome black wood grain. No way the camera would pick that up, esp at night:( Oh, did not get the rear spoiler. I like the looks without.

they really seemed useless to me aswell but not much you can do. i really think i am going to get it without the spoiler as well, but it is a tough one. if you get it with it, can it easily be taken off do you know?

the new wood grain really looks great, and much better from last years stone or whatever it was. also i like the round wheel wells much better on the 06!!!!!!!!!!!
