Hey Guys,

I drove up to NC Thursday for a quick get away on Thurs. Jan 17. Shot some photos along the Blue Ridge Pkwy near Valle Crucis, N.C.

It was just under 700 miles round trip from ATL but sure didn't feel like it in the 4Runner! The performance in the snow was excellent!

I can't figure out how to post more than one photo at at a time, so please forgive me for being a post hog....at least this one time until I figure it out.:D

Last one. A really old church near Boone NC,

I don't know when... but I'm going to go to that church one day.

Awesome pictures! Your runner looks kickass.

Very cool, thanks for posting the pics! I was actually in Boone that same day in my T4R at the hospital there for work from 6am until around 9am. Didn't make it on the Pkwy though, I'm jealous!

Thanks for the feedback guys!

Hey ProMed, I'm sure you're aware, but quite a bit of the parkway was closed due to the snow, so I was only able to hop on 3-4 mile stretches that were open in different areas.

Sort of funny, but there were many signs on the parkway that said something to the effect of "Avoid Driving on The Parkway during fog, snow and ice."

I'm thinking, man that's the best time to drive it (in a 4Runner) !

Very cool pics. That church gives me goosebumps just looking at it. There's an erie feeling to it, and I keep thinking of slaves being brought there to be hanged.

AlphaQup, yeah I got the same feeling about the church too. It may have even been on private property, but I couln't tell.
A couple of windows on the sides were broken out too. A really old place for sure.

BTLFED, hey if the Bellvue Insane Asylum is near Dunwoody, I'll stop by and pay you a visit. I'm insane most days of the week myself!!!! LOL:p

Great shots!! Looks like a lot of fun. Makes me miss home, I am from the Asheville area.

BTW, soon to be Land Rover convert here as well!! :)

Nice pics. I am from Greensboro. Did you only come up for the day, or did u spend the night and go back the next day?

Hey Jeffery_VB..... I love going up to NC anytime I can get away. Asheville is a great town! Alot of great resturaunts there too.

JWA898...... I left Atlanta around 6:30am, drove up, got on the PKWY around lunch and drove on different segments of it all afternoon. I stayed that one night in Boone, and drove back the next day.

A great little getaway. The real bummer is the highest elevations (4,000-6,000+ft) of the entire Blue Ridge Pkwy (on the southernmost end between Cherokee and Asheville) were closed to all vehicles. It's par for the course on the Pkwy in the winter.

All the sections I drove on were in the 3,000-4,000ft elevation range.

This is my first post on this site. I just bought my '05 SR5 V6 on Monday. Very exciting! Ive been reading T4R.org for the past 4 days straight. This pic is at Chautauqua Park in Boulder, Colorado. The Flatirons are in the background.

Thanks. Novice photographer with a Canon Powershot SD800 IS. Its 7.1 megapixels. Point n Shoot. Though I do enjoy taking photos I dont plan on buying an SLR anytime soon.
No I dont have a page set up yet. How do I do that? Ive debadged the 4Runner, installed LED's on the interior domes/door/map lights, and Im in the process of making my own "black pearl" rear toyota emblem. Sound system will be installed on Monday.
