Hey all,

After a lot of patience and searching I found the one. A 2011 4Runner Trail Edition with 71k miles. Coming from a 2004 Tacoma Xtracab TRD 4x4 V6, I was familiar with Toyota quality. Old Tacoma Thread

The truck has been mostly owned and maintained in CT with a great service history. I plan on doing a LOT of maintenance just like all my previous cars which is why I started this thread.

Armor/Body/Exterior:
-Stock bumpers and side rails
-2014+ Taillights
-AVS side window ventshade and hood deflector
-Matched front tints

Suspension & Wheels/tires:
-Bilstein 5100's. 2.5" Upfront stock springs and UCA's. 1.5" Rear Cornfed spacers
-285 KO2 C Load
-SCS F5 Dark Matte Bronze 17x8.5
-Powerstop Z36 Heavy Duty Rotors and Pads

Interior:
-Huskyliner All-weather floor mats front & rear
-FyreFly interior LED kit
-Leather Wrapped Steering Wheel

Engine:
-Stock everything
-Remote start

This truck is hopefully going to see a lot of long adventuring. Three days after taking her home I took her on a 3,000 mile road trip to FL. Here she is at one of our stops with my Tepui Kukenam roof-top tent!

On our way back from the trip I noticed water dripping down from the rear seatbelt slots and a slightly wet headliner (where the C-Pillar meets the headliner). I decided to take apart some of the interior pieces to find out what was leaking. As it turns out the REAR sunroof drain tubes were completely disconnected.. I was only able to verify this by closing the sunroof completely then pouring water on the roof. While I was there I checked the front drains of which the driver side needed a little cleaning.

I managed to reconnect the rear tubes and clamped them down to prevent them from sliding off in the future.

Thank you! It really wasn't bad especially with two people involved. Lower trunk side panels come off first (one 10mm bolt hidden behind a small cover) then the top panels come off. Then the front and rear door seals need to get pulled back (top half). Then the lower and upper B pillar side panels come off (another 10mm bolt on the lower B pillar side panel). From there you may want to lower the center ceiling light in order to pull the headliner down a little. From THERE you have access to both side drain tubes!

Like I said it's a lot easier then it sounds. Have a buddy help in case you get stuck! Took us 45mins-1hr to take apart, fix, and reassemble!

Finished up the leather steering wheel cover/wrap install. Took me about 7-8 hours :doh: :faint:

Also performed an oil & filter change at 76k

Truck got a full detail today. Still can't believe how well it came out. Interior, exterior, and engine bay.

Added AVS Bug Deflector considering I drive 500miles/week and matched the front windows with tints. New Powerstop front and rear rotors and pads. Gave her a bi monthly clean!

After a year of research and back and forth I’ve decided and pulled the trigger on a set of 285 ko2 C Load and SCS F5 in Matte Bronze

Dude truck is looking awesome! Glad to see another New England-er with a early 5th gen trail on here. I just did my bilstein lift a few weekends ago so I feel like I'm right behind you.

I actually bought my truck in CT, but I'm in RI.

Good stuff! Love the early 5th gen inside and out and they're just as bit dependable as the newer ones!

Beyond satisfied with the 285 KO2 C Load. MPG stayed just about the same while performance took a minimal hit. Handling most certainly improved. Borrowed a buddy's camera and finally captured some half decent photos:
