Need a clean dashboard for 1992 (gray)

Hello Everyone!

I am getting the bug to clean up & upgrade my aging stock rig. Particularly after the last break-in where the thief abandoned the job after completely opening up the center of my dash like a tin of sardines. :dammit:

Plus, I am a novice when it comes to car stuff, so I need to get advice on where to source parts. When I searched via Google, I found more mechanical parts compared to stock interior parts. I intend to search the forums for general sources, but wondered if salvage or parts resellers exist who specialize in interior instead of mechanical?

The last time I had to deal with an audio-related break-in I was not satisfied with the condition of the dashboard which the repair shop purchased. I am hopeful that I can better predict the condition of the next used dash if I am involved in procurement. :)

Thanks for advice!
:D

Which generation 4runner do you have? I have a dash out of a 95 pickup (grey) that I got for parts that is is good condition. It should work for a 4runner. Where are you located?
You could always check out local junkyards for interior pieces. I have found quite a bit of odds and ends that have been taken out of my runner over the years.

If you are looking to replace your dash I would suggest doing your heater core since you are that far. After 20+ years of use that thing slowly goes down hill in it's ability to heat.

Am I understanding that there is not an aftermarket replacement for a 1992 T4R?

Link me if you have an option please. =)

2nd gens are pretty much everywhere in the junkyards around here, I'm sure yours are the same, as far as I know there are no new aftermarket interior pieces available, but there are plenty of pristine used pieces to be found still.
