Need a quick answer

Need a quick answer... Valve cover

Am in the process of putting my valve covers back on my 00 4runner and I want to use my torque wrench on the 16 screws for the covers can anyone confirm the amount of torque needed so I won't crack the cover thanks!!!
Btw I search and found different answers :/

Like you two haven't given bad information in the past. everyone make mistakes.

Yes i gave the wrong number (sorry op) but the OP jumped the gun on the first answer. Look at everyone else responses after mine saying it was 4, wouldn't you have second guessed that one way out there (mine)

No one ever said we didn't. I wouldn't give out information on tightening a valve cover if I weren't 100% tough. Shit happens, it's a part of life.

The OP took your advice, cracked his cover, and all you had to say was "someone needs to add this to the torque spec page". The next piece or advice came almost 4 hours later. I would have taken your advice too had no one else chimed in. If I make a mistake I own up to it and apologize for it. I'm not going to get into a pissing match over this, it's not worth it.

*Edit* Now seeing you've edited you original post a couple times to reflect what I said.

I didn't call you any names, or flip you off (like you just did to us).

I simply said this is a good lesson to not give out torque specs, if you don't know for sure.

That is something I have never done.

With 02SE on this. Not a single person ever called you a name or anything. All we said was lesson learned. I make sure I have my facts straight before I post information to help someone else. It's not my rig, and I don't want to feel responsible if I'm wrong. You're obviously feeling attached since you've changed you original post to be more aggressive. I'm not attacking you, not calling you names, and not acting childish about this.

Simply said, lesson learned!

we all make mistakes guys, im sure shootmymime feels bad for posting bad info, and im sure the OP feels like an idiot for cracking his valve cover(s), and now having to redo the job. let this be a learning experience for us all. i dont think anyone here is obligated to do anything other than apologize.

my last edit (after multiple edit) was still a min ahead of yours, not trying to brag. im just saying that i made all those edits and changes before i saw your post.
you quoted me after my 1st post and must have taken a few min to post it, then saw my other edits, thats why my full edited post is not in your quote.
