Need Advice: 5th Gen Spring Upgrade

Decided to upgrade to Bilstein 5100's on my '14 SR5 4x4. Researched his forum and Toyota 120 and have assimilated some useful info.

No issues replacing the rears. Would like some advice on the front struts.

My plan is to follow the "no spring compressor" method documented here on a 4th gen. OME Install - no spring compressor - Toyota 120 Platforms Forum

Could you advise on the following?

1. Will this method work on 5th gen's?
2. Anyone run into unexpected issues using this method with 5100's?
3. Sway bar. What is the point of removing it? More space to work with, or allowing the suspension to sufficiently rest? Do you disconnect it on the side you are working on, or do you completely remove it? Is this step necessary? Some in the how-to thread claim they didn't need to.
4. Found this 4th gen thread of removing the sway bar. Does it apply to 5th gens? OME Suspension Install on 4Runner - Toyota 120 Platforms Forum

Thanks in advance for your advice.
