Need advice on used T4R w/SC

I've been hovering around this site taking in all the info you guys have, so I can purchase my first 3rd Gen. I am in the Tampa area.

I'm looking at a 99 Limited with s/c. It has 179k on it, and the current owner has only changed the timing belt in the 10 years he has owned it. And, it spent the first 5 years of its life in Wyoming. He now lives in Florida.

I've looked at three 4 runners so far, all were originally from the rust belt states, Pa, Ohio and Indiana. Everyone of them had major rust issues on the frame. So I'm learning about even taking a look at another northern 4 runner.

I also read that buying a SC 4RUNNER is a bad idea, not knowing how the previous owner took care of it.

What's a good price, and what's your thoughts.?

The pictures look great, but he doesn't have pics of the engine or frame.

At a minimum the SC probably needs a rebuild from what I read.

If you include the ad, people will have a better idea of what you're dealing with.

Here's what the add says...

Good condition 1999 Toyota 4Runner Limited 4X4. This suv has 189k miles and is in good shape.

Stock Toyota TRD Supercharger installed at time of purchase by dealer! A/C blows cold, everything works, interior in good condition, exterior in good condition. NADA is $6700. Cash only.

Automatic transmission, 6 cylinder motor, tow hitch and roof racks. Apple Ipod hook up directly into stereo

The pictures look like every other silver 4RUNNER. The carpet is stained in the back. The seats look redone, but the steering wheel is rough (nothing a cover can't fix)

Yeah that blower has to be worn out if its been in service the life of the truck. Imho, it sounds kinda scary to me. Others might disagree. The 5vz is a great motor but Maintenance and driving style of the previous owner are going to be huge factors on this one.

The ol' 3.4 is pretty bulletproof.

Neglect is pretty obvious.

Personally I don't think it's worth the $6700 but to each their own.
