I have a '99 SR5 with 195m miles. The body is in excellent shape. its all original and its never been it. The interior is in decent shape. It has a bad injector on 6. It also needs a cat and a rear pinion bearing. Its also do for a timing belt. New injectors are probably $1200. An engine rebuild is $5 grand and would cover everything (except the rear pinion bearing) I could do one or the other or nothing. What would you guys do?

efinkens, I'm trying to understand your question. Are you asking if you should do the single repairs individually versus an entire engine rebuild? If so, I have to ask what is the condition of your engine? Meaning, how much compression loss do you have? Are you the original owner and has the oil been changed every 3-5k miles? If not, then yes, you may want to consider an engine rebuild. As far as the differential is concerned, you could always find an inexpensive used one OR, if you plan on lifting and going with larger tires in the future, you could explore "re-gearing". Anyway, good luck!
