Need brake rotors

Got told today I need to replace all 4 rotors to get rid of shake during braking. We tried turning but didn't get all the shake out. Has anyone heard of or used these rotors. I would love to save money where I can but don't want to buy junk either. Any feed back would be great! Thanks.

i run Powerstop pads and rotors on mine, mainly to help keep braking decent with the over-sized tires and the occasional towing i do. if you want just a stock style rotor centric is a good one to go with

Here's a question and please be honest. I have heard that only 20% of braking comes from the rear. Could I put on a set of the cheaper centric rotars from rock auto on the rear and then go to a high quality rotor on the front or is that a dumb idea?

Not sure about 20% from the rear, but yes, you could go higher quality up front, and basic in the rear. I've had good results from Centric rotors in back, and Power Stop in front.

I've ordered several pairs of Centric rotors from RockAuto for other vehicles always had good results. Mate the rotors with a quality pad and you should be set.

Also not sure about 20%, although it is less, but running standard rotors/pad on the rear and higher performance rotors/pads up front is common.

Awesome guys. Thanks for the feed back. I will be ordering rotors and pads tomorrow from rock auto. That will be way better than the $430 in parts that the shop quoted me!

When it comes to rotots, steel is steel. There is no need to over spend. Unless you are looking at getting cross drilled or slotted rotors, save your money. Pads are a different story.

One last question. I have noticed on rock auto that there are different size rotors all listed for my truck. I can find front rotor that are 319mm to 338 mm. How do I know which one to order for my truck or does that even matter?? Same problem on the back. I have never ordered rotors by size, just by vehicle. Thanks for the help.

The easiest way to be sure is to go out to the truck and measure them.

If you go into an auto parts store, they'll ask you if you have 16 or 17 inch wheels. If you say 16 they'll sell you the 12.5 inch rotors and if you say 17 they'll sell you the 13.3 inch rotors.

In reality, it's not that simple. I have an SR5 with 17 inch wheels but it uses the 12.5 inch rotors.

I'm sure that people will chime in and tell you that all SR5s us the small ones but the Limited and Sports use the larger ones. That may be right, I don't claim to know. The best way to make sure is to just pop off the wheel and take a tape measure to your current rotors.

I went through the trouble of measuring mine at 319mm - then afterward just looked at the inner caliper face and saw 13WG stamped right there. Could've saved myself the trouble of pulling the wheel.

Does anyone else have any other way of telling? I need to order new rotors for my 06 limited. I have the 18inch wheels. I pulled the tire off tonight, but without pulling the rotor fully off the size was hard to tell.

I've chimed in on this before, but I highly recommend the Centric Premium rotors which are available on Amazon. I had them on my rig prior to one of my calipers seizing and they never squeaked, never squealed, seated perfectly, and were great.

Amazon.com: Centric Parts 120.44128 Premium Brake Rotor with E-Coating: Automotive

When my caliper seized the garage that identified it replaced my front rotors with NAPA rotors and calipers and I'm not sure what kind of pads, but every damn morning my front brakes squeal like a stuck pig when I'm backing out of my parking spot. As soon as I apply the brakes to stop while actually moving, it clears the rust or whatever causes the squeal in the first place, but my car sounds like a damn jalopy first thing in the morning and I hate it.

Every. Damn. Morning.
