Hey guys,

Wondering what trails, if any, people have done in a STOCK 4runner in Moab, without body damage. We are here for the week, and did a few today. Lookin for any imput.

White Rim trail a definite. Fins and Things too.

I would recommend Kane Creek up to Chicken Corners. At certain times of year there is water crossings that may be to deep but it was dry when I was there and no water. Very senic. Also right after you go into Canyonlands national part there is a trail with a lot of switchbacks that goes back to Moab. Ask the rangers about it. Highly recommended. The rangers also told me about another trail I went on when my 4runner was stock. It went from before the entrance to Canyonlands and headed down to the river. You go under a big rock that fell from the side out the mountains. Ask them about the big rock you go under and they can direct you to it. I do not remember the name of the trail.

can't help, never been. But I am interested to see lots more pics of a stock sr5 out there. Looks like stock tires too.... be careful, and let us know how it goes!

Drove down Long Canyon in FJ and it should be fine for the 4R. Here's the video from some of the road. I took it from the top, on the way into Canyonlands, down to the river.

White Rim trail ,Chicken Corners and Onion Creek were easy ones I went on last year . White Rim trail is like 100 miles long and I really like Canyonlands Nat Park and will be back there this year.

I didn't go on it but apparently Hell's Revenge is'nt that hard as you can see from the video.I saw this over on the FJ forum and couldn't stop laughing! I think his dog was spotting for him and really diggin his bike mount....lol

Thanks for the info guys. So far we have done the trail to Secret Spire, Dellenbaugh Tunnel, Rainbow Terrace, and attempted Metal Masher. Got about five miles up that, about to where the big boys play. Lost an exhaust tip and scraped up the bottom of the right rear quarter panel, no big deal. Rainbow Terrace was great! 90% of the trail was quite easy, with one climb being an exception. Pushed the limits a bit, but scooted right up. Atrac was slaving away most of the climb. Will post some pictures, but unfortunatly my photographer is also my spotter, so we didnt get too many.

I gotta tell you guys this ATRAC is the stuff! A rear locker is ALMOST not missed. My 06 Tacoma had one, and I tell you even stock this 4runner sees country my tacoma could not. It does make navigating steps and things a little harder to do smoothly as the ATRAC senses wheel slip AND THEN starts working. So there is a bit of hiccuping, but nothing that a little two foot driving doesnt fix. I was hestitant that it would work, as my limited slip on my 08 Tundra did not work for crap, but i think Toyota hit a homerun with this system. You really never know how good it is until you push the Runner to its limits. Anyways, going to do Fins & Things friday, and will try to get some good HD footage there. Also thnx to all for the trail advice. Going to try to see as much as possible by saturday without wearing the wife and dogs out!

Attached some scenery shots for you guys. Mind you all these features are NOT in either Arches nor Canyonland national parks. So there is alot of cool things to see and you wont see a soul! Gooney Bird Rock, Gemini Bridges(looking up from Bull Canyon), Secret Spire, and Tombstone Rock.

Why? All the terrain select does is recalibrate stuff like the throttle, transmission shift points and a-trac. Locker, skid plates, and a-trac tweaks aside, you can do 75% of what the system does with your right foot. I got the TE for the fatter sway bar, and so my wife could use the aforementioned features as a safety net (because I'd rather not have "digging out the truck" on my honey-do list).

Hey guys,

So we did about 1/3 of Hells Revenge last night, and we did Fins n Things today. All is well with minor scuffs on the rear of the 4runner. There are some NASTY ledges on Fins n Things, they call them the Giant Ledges for a reason. Did not get any photos, only video. If someone could point me in the right direction on how to post HD video it would be appriciated.

If I let my wife take my 4Runner wheeling, I'd have to put my insurance agent on speed dial...........My wife's saftey net is her Camry and the city snowplows.
