I have a line on some tacoma bilstein shocks from a 2012 and am trying to find out if they will fit my 06 4 runner sport?
Need help asap

ok how about 08 tundra bilsteins? I heard those might be better than the tacoma ones? and the short answer does that leave out a bunch of stuff? haha

yes rocket I bought it from the original owner...I now have 40k on it...I have driven it a few times back and forth from my house in washington to my place in arizona...

so once I get the shocks where would I find good springs? I want to have it lifted about 3 inches...is that even possible with the bilsteins or would I need different shocks? I did find 08 tundra bilsteins which I hear are more adjustable?

yes get the tundra bilsteins and get yourself some FJ 4x4 coils and you will get pretty close to your 3" or add 1/4"-1" spacer if you want that exact 3". Or get the toytec coils along with the tundra bilsteins for the front 3" and toytec springs and the bilsteins in the rear giving you, guess what....a completely lifted 06' only 40k 4Runner!!

I have been searching and the only thing I could find was about a 3rd gen...I am not savvy when it comes to toyotas so it is all kinda new to me...I am more of a jeep guy and have built a few of them...I do appreciate the help for sure.

Suspension lift kits for 2003-2009 4th gen Toyota 4Runner.
by looking at the kits you are able to see what components they use to get 3" of lift being that you already will have the shock part, now coil and springs are needed then you need to decide what kind of lift are you going for? just for show mall stomper, which is fine and alot cheaper, or you gonna want to add front and rear bumpers which adds weight sooo different coils and springs are gonna be needed for that, or light off roading on the weekends is your plan with minimal weight additions.
Once you decide that will help determine what springs/coils to get for that 3" lift.
If you go to any off the sponsers on the main page scroll down towards the bottom and go through them to see what they offer and whats in there kits cause they also sell each of the parts seperately in pairs/sets.

It has been very overwhelming yes...I just got off the phone with toytec and they told me the tundra bilsteins will not work with 4th gen 4 runners unfortunately. But it looks as though the boss suspension set up would be a good one for what I would like to do.. I love to rock crawl and I know the runner is not going to be as good as my jeep but hopefully that kit will let me do a little at least for the time being...

But I'm glad your finding where to start..
I would get yourself a 1st - 3rd gen 4Runner as your Rock Crawler and just keep your 06 as a DD and you might just be amazed at what they can do ..just like a Heep,and minus the frequent breakage, constant breakdowns and no more embarrassing days of needing a 4Runner to the rescue, which all calculates to more time having fun off-roading....dang it damn fat fingers again :barf: Jeep
And could possibly recant your previous statement...

one luv thank you very much and its all good I can take it hahaha...I definitely am amazed at what the toyotas can do for sure...I do want to get a little lift on this one for sure to make it not look so umm not sure of the words to say but you know what I mean haha.

I do actually have another question perhaps you would be able to help me with or maybe guide me in the right direction...when I back up and hit the brakes there is a slight clunk...I am unsure of what it might possibly be maybe the brakes themselves or maybe a driveline? have you experienced anything like this or know of anyone who may have?

Look up "Driveline Clunk/Thump" in the search function and/or through google with T4R.org in quotations. It's a somewhat common issue due typically from the driveshaft being underlubricated. In some cases you may want an updated driveshaft if it bothers you that much (or you have extended warranty that will cover the TSB.)
