Need some help! I have a 2007 SR5 with 80K miles on it. I bought it from a previous owner about a year ago. I have not had any problems with it until the last couple of days. While driving I went to make a normal stop at a light but when I pushed the brakes nothing happened, I freaked out of course and pushed harder(brake went to the floor). I took my foot off the brake and pressed them again and they worked normally. Scary moment to say the least. This has continued to happen randomly the last day or so. Now that I know it can happen I am prepared and will take my foot off the brake when it fails and reapply for it to stop. It happens so inconsistently I can't duplicate it myself, I have noticed it is not when I brake hard but rather when I am gradually stopping and lightly press it. I have looked around but haven't found any info that is similar enough to what I am experiencing
- I have checked brake lines and all seem fine(no cracks or leaks).
- My brake light is not on.
- "Maint" light is only one on, but i believe that is because I am due for an oil change.
- Brake fluid is full.
- Brake engages like normal when I turn on the car.
Things to know:
I lifted it about a month or two ago with Daystar 2.5/1.5 level kit. I did not bleed brakes and I left lines alone when I installed it. I have not experienced any problems until a day ago so I don't believe it has anything to do with this but figured I'd share just in case.
I wanted to see if anyone had any info before taking it to the dealership. Since it is so random, I feel like the dealership will look at it and it will all appear fine if it doesn't fail for them.
Thanks for your responses!
