Need help choosing what springs to go with 5100s

I am planning on buying 5100’s for my 4Runner and am getting mixed signals on what to use with it. I plan on having a metal bumper in the front and rear, with rear having a swingout.

Can I run OME 861s in the rear and it be okay? I rear that some people use 891s, but others think it’s too overkill. I can’t find good information on good front springs that are maybe medium weight.

Is the regular front set up different that coil overs?

Are there perhaps better shocks/struts to run? I’ve seen a lot of people use the rear LC Tokico blacks. I just can’t seem to find the right information and I wanted to search a lot before asking a question on here

How much lift are you going for?

The rear 5100's are designed for stock springs, stock springs with 1.5" spacers and OME 2906 springs. Basically, 2" max lift.

If you are going for more lift in the rear, you may want to investigate using longer shocks and bump stop spacers. (though there are some 5100 options that fit that are longer, they just aren't 4Runner specific).

I figured going for 2-3” nothing super crazy. I found the Bilsteins for around $350 on Amazon and that was cheaper than anywhere else

That’s quite cheap! I used FJ springs for a while for about a 2” lift. Felt great too, not too firm or squishy.

Went ahead and got the bilsteins, OME 861s and eibach 620# for the front. Hope they do well!
