I have a 2007 4Runner SR5 (no moonroof), and I ordered a new overhead console that will have the homelink garage opener capability and also a autodimmer/compass mirror (to be installed next week); and in the spirit of exploration, took out the current console now to see what the electrical wiring looks like inside (ie.. confirm I can power both the homelink and lights in the console, and see if I could run power to the autodimming mirror in there as well).
Well, the first thing I found was the "white" connector that was originally attached to the overhead console, providing power to the lights (I believe this is at 12V, but need to confirm..., and always on). Can those of you who have done the homelink console swap confirm that those two wires (no. 4-5 in the image) power both the lights and garage opener when plugged into the "new" console?
Then tucked away just around the lip was a "blue" connector with 3 wires running into it. I assume this is the "pre-wiring" for a moonroof, and since I don't have it, it was never used... but I am hoping someone here can confirm and help me out. My thought is I would like to cut those wires free (no. 1-3 in the image), and use them to power the autodimming mirror, but I need to confirm which one(s) are hot (and if they are always, or only when the car is on), what the voltage is, which (if any) is ground, etc...
Thus, does anybody have know what the numbered wires called out in the image are (voltage, on always/or only with ignition, etc...)?
Thank you immensely!
