These came on my 2001 T4R w/16's. I originally assumed they were EBC's since they're green... can anybody that's had EBC's confirm if these are or are not? I just want to sell them but wanted to determine what brand if possible.

Wait. You want to sell used brake pads? Somethings should not be sold used. Underwear for example. Brake pads... why?

They are cheap enough these days new, why on earth would anyone want to buy used pads? Am I missing something?

Well if I could determine the brand I would know how much pad material they shipped with. From that I could determine approx mileage on the pad. I've read where alot of people think the EBC's are great, so I'd hate to pitch some with 60% or so left on them. If these are EBC-DP7807 they sell for 109.00 new, these aren't Duralast.
As far as used pads go... in auto racing it's not uncommon to season many sets of new pads and rotors during practice so we can have "used stuff" on hand and ready to go.

Your 3rd gen isn't either. If you want to do a bigger service, then make sure they are correctly recycled so that the metal can be reused.

Did I accidentally post on a Honda Forum? I guess I don't understand all the hate. I asked a legitimate question, provided model info, pictures and even attempt to use proper grammar.

Honestly, I don't give a **** what you "think" about it personally, all I want to know is what kind of pads I have. If you wouldn't buy them that's super, I would not buy them either... fact is times are hard and I'd rather have some used OEM pads then some discount automotive store pads. Wait, they probably don't have these at Autozone, since it's not an automobile.

Easy buddy. It's not everyday someone is trying to sell used brake pads. It's a forum, you have to expect some b*ll busting.

As far as the pads go, have you tried searching the part # that's is stamped into the back of the pad? That would be your best bet I think to determine for sure what they are.

I wasn't even trying to sell them here, I was going to post them up on Ewhore. There was never anything wrong with them I just run Hawk pads and swapped them out.

Most spaceships are sterile environments though....at least the ones I've worked in.

All the HAWK pads I've run in the past have caused TONS of dust, however I was running slotted rotors at the time. What rotors are you on?

I took the whole thing apart just to clean it!

It had what I'm guessing was baby puke on the back seat and kids in car seats are just dirty in general IMO... I don't have any but I worked at a detail shop as a kid and I will never be surprised wear I find a booger.

They come painted and are supposed to be different steel or some****.
I've always ran Brembo blanks but sadly they no longer produce them in the USA... I don't buy into drilling or slotting, but slotted is less worse. Both remove precious surface area from normally too small of a rotor too start with. Both make it impossible to surface the rotor. Any decent pad will have a gas slot or one can be easily added with a hack saw. On a track car destroying a set of pads in a day or a weekend is pretty much the norm. Being able to resurface a set of rotors is priceless.

Oh but real racecars have drilled rotors... yep and it's usually on a giant 12-13" or bigger rotor, in that situation it's less to do with cooling and more about removing rotational mass. Real raceteams have sweet real race budgets and just throw rotors away.

Brake dust is a product of stopping, sort of a requirement if you look at it on paper. Low dust pads are either so hard they just wear the rotor, which you would notice your wheels getting an orangish cast as the metal dust rusts, or they use ceramics for clearer dust. Hawk has the HPS street compound that is low dust and works well.
The PC performance ceramic that I know nothing about.
The HP plus which is what I run on my track whore/street car... there is a fair amount of dust and a tremendous amount of stopping lol.
The LTS SUV pad which is what I run on the 4R, They're not low dust but my wheels don't turn black over the weekend or at all really. Did I mention I pull trailers?
SD or super duty pad for fleet vehicles, I run these on my 1ton GMC van, the theory is the pad wears fast but saves the rotor, since my rotors are $125ea and warp like it's their job I switched to these a few years ago. My first set I swapped out at 40K they were close enough to done, rotors still look like new. Now 25K on the second set the rotors are still perfect, and the pads are 38 bucks. All the dust dissipates the heat that would normally warp the rotors :nerd:

I don't know that Hawk is the greatest but I have been working with them for over 12 years. Their pads are made right here in Medina, Ohio just up the road from me. I know that I have had fantastic performance from their products and have sold hundreds of sets. If you race they have something like 20 flavors of pad material to suit different driver needs. BTW I don't have Hawk panties but I have a ****load of their stickers
