I was working on a 11 Limited deal last night (3rd row, NAV). I assume your demo has NAV? If so, current sticker is roughly $44.5K. Invoice including advertising fees is around $41.8 and the truck can be had at invoice or $500 over without too much heartache depending on region. Not sure how your cost jumps to $39K; if it is fees, then it is a problem, if taxes/reg, then ok. $4K off new purchase price seems about right, I guess, and remote start is not cheap.

I wouldn't mind buying a clean demo becuase I don't keep vehicles very long. But not sure what shows on the carfax etc when you go to sell. Do they give you 2 years free maintenance and sat radio trial period? Good luck.

Yes, the vehicle I was looking at has Nav.I am located in Baltime,MD and the taxes and dealer fees are almost 2k.Even though it is a Demo it is still being considered a new vehicle becuase it has never been titled. The truck comes with 2yrs free maintenance and sat. radio. The only issue is the truck has 6k miles on it.

I got mine new (only17 miles after test drive) for 39k. I have everything that one has--minus one year. You have to ask yourself if a 2kish savings for about 8 months of mileage is worth it. I think you can get a new(2011) one for about 38.5+tax with everything if you really push. The 2012 should start coming in approximately September. Of course in the end it's what you feel is a good deal. I'd say the $37,7 out the door might work for me--I'd have to think about it more.

Invoice without ad fees is $40.5K, so $39K is not going to happen today for the average Joe buying a limited with 3rd row and nav. Price has jumped some since 2010. I think this is highly region dependent so beware of that. Check Edmunds TMV for regional pricing on a new vehicles although TMV prices always seem high. Or ask on this board for Manheim auction numbers to get idea of wholesale prices. Ask the dealer to see the invoice sheet. I always get one when I ask. Will show what they paid for the vehicle 6.5K miles ago, but look for holdback that they get back... Tough call for sure as you don't want to find out next month you got ripped. Ebay is a good price check also. I think you have a good deal if they gave another $500 but don't blame me if you regret or pass up and regret!

If you got rid of the third row, you could hit near the $39K mark for new maybe....make sure you need that.

Was the 39k you spent out the door tax tags and all the BS? If so I better tell this dealer no go.

$39k was the total before tax only...I bought out of state...payed my taxes when I got back home...I could have done better had I not been so picky about the color choice SBP w/ beige int +3rd row (only 6 in the entire US at the time)...Again it's all about what you feel is right for you...But IMHO, I'd rather spend a pinch more and buy new...If you think the demo is ok, maybe have them shave some more off or try and throw some more things on...I find the latter a little easier to push for.

Check truecar.com also as that is a great resource based on recent purchase data. It'll show that $39K won't happen given dealer cost of $40,770 for NAV, 3rd row, BP, limited.
