Need help resolving a problem

I'm having problems getting a 2004 4Runner repaired and am hoping that readers here can give me some advice on the best way to raise the issue.

In a nutshell, I had an accident and the rear door needs to be replaced. Just the door and attached parts (window, rear camera etc.) The damage is just to the door. There is no damage to the door frame or any other parts. A simple two day repair.

The body shop ordered a door through the local dealer. The dealer shipped the wrong door (no back-up camera hole). Dealer re-orders door. In the meantime the shop has removed the door off my truck so it is not drivable. The second door comes in so badly damaged that they don't even send it to the autobody shop. They re-order. The new door is "in transit". It has been in transit for a week when it was expected to take 2 days. Five days ago it was supposed to be on a truck from Maryland. Now, three weeks have passed since I brought the 4Runner in and it still isn't repaired. I'm starting to believe that there is no door. There was supposed to be ONE in the country!

I have been really patient with this. Now I'm pretty F#$^#$$ pissed. I want to write a letter to or call someone who can help get this resolved. The auto bosy shop is telling me it is out of their control. They can only wait for a door (and I can't really disagree with them). The Dealer is pretty much saying the same thing...but no one an tell me where the #$@#$^# the door is!!

Anyone know the proper contacts in Toyota to complain to? Is the 1-800 Go Toyota of any use?

:cannon::smash:

Thanks,

George

First off, was this body shop recommended by your dealer or affiliated with Toyota? You said that a dealer ordered the wrong door. I am assuming it is a Toyota dealer so that would be the number to complain to. They should at least accomodate you until your door is in because it is their incompetence. I see it as both places faults. Dealer for ordering wrong door and body shop for taking the door off without checking if the right door was shipped to them.
