Well it is done... $1100.

I am picking it up tonight. A few things I forgot to mention. It has 63" Chevy springs as well as an auto locker in the back.

First things first. Rebuild the front axle, redo the brakes, and Hysteer.

I cant wait to wheel this monster.

Body is in pretty rough shape.

Do any of you have experience with costs to remove all body and undercarriage rust and replace metal (I know it varies just want an idea of what ill be getting myself into)

I am right in the middle of restoring my '89 and can tell you that stripping the entire body completely and replacing the offending metal is the only way to go if you want the truck to look good when you finish. I have replaced the front fenders with rust-free ones that I got at a local scrap yard and am in the process of replacing the quarter panels. I am doing all of the work myself including the repaint and to date, I have about $750 into panels, body work materials and paint supplies. But the real cost is the labor, expect to pay a premium price if you take it to a shop and have them do the job correctly.....But that depends on what your definition of correct is. As for the undercarriage, I would suggest good old elbow grease, wire brushes and assorted power tools to remove it. Why waste part of your budget paying someone else to do something that doesn't require any skill.

Thanks for the tip. My local pull a part has an 85 4runner im interested in seeing. I would love to see if I can salvage some of its body panels

Can the under carriage rust be sandblasted?
