Need help to decide OME 891 or 906 for towing

Hi T4R I need help deciding which rear coil spring do I need? I was Debating from OME 891 or 906 with air lift bag. I have tundra coil for the front y/y and y/b. Im going with tundra bilstein 5100 and bilstein for the rear too. I bean search around on the web can't find a good answer which rear spring coil to use Please help thank you

How much are you towing? I have 906 with air bags and I love them. I've towed a couple times and doesn't really sag, but I don't tow much more than a 1k-1500 pounds.

I believe the hull+motor weight is around 1350 I tow about once or twice a week. How do you like the ride?

I would definitely go with the 891s. I think 906s would be too short and would look too saggy

906. I have towed 4000 pounds with no sag, though they do settle about 1/2 an inch around 500 to 1000 miles after installation.

If you go with the 906's you have plan on running the fronts on the bottom notch for lift.

Otherwise the front end is going to be higher than the rear at resting height, with no load or tongue weight on it. If you don want it at least level your weight will all be on the airbags and not on the coils.

I love my 906 with the Bilstein 5125 shocks with 2 trim packers and the air bags. Ive heard the 891 is the heavy duty and rides is a little more stiff. I personally haven't tried them. I do not experience any sag when you properly inflate the bags.

The big difference is that the 891 has a height (on the taller coil) of 16.75" while the 906 (on the taller coil) is 15.35".

With the 891's wire diameter of .61" and 9.5 wraps you can pretty safely assume that there will be 1.15" of space between the coils at rest. Each 210lbs you add should "sag" the coils .05", if my understanding of how spring rates work is correct.

With the 906's wire diameter of .59" and 9 wraps you can pretty safely assume that there will be 1.115" of space between the coils at rest. Each 220lbs you add should "sag" the coils .05", again, if my understanding of how spring rates work is correct.

Of course by "adding 210/220 lbs" I mean to the rear axle. A 4000lb trailer with a tongue weight of 500lbs is adding 500lbs (give or take).


SOOOO TL;DR version: If you want more lift, go with the 891. If you don't want more lift, go with the 906. Aside from the height of the spring, they're quite similar.
