Looks like an oil return. You should have one of these to bolt onto there :

T3,T3/T4 Turbo 4AN Oil Feed +10 AN Oil Drain adapter | eBay

That is actually for the 7th injector kit. If you don't use it, a blockoff plate covers up that hole. There's a couple other parts that you are missing too; throttle cable bracket, diagnosit port bracket, lower intake plenum...

From what I can see by piecing the pictures together, it looks like you are missing some vital pieces that probably aren't sold seperate from the complete supercharger kit. If you could take some pictures from further out that might help to see what you are missing.

I would foward your concerns and photos to Magnuson a rebuilder of TRD superchargers. They will know exactly what you need and where to find them .

Hope this helps.......

Good advice! I almost picked up a 1st gen supercharger this past year that was missing a bunch of stuff like yours but decided against it because all my local dealers couldn't help me find parts and it seemed like it was going to be a runaround to collect them all to get the job done. GOOD LUCK though and hope to see it come together. Definitely get in touch with Magnuson.

Im sure you got this for like $200 knowing you, and you will use it for a month then sell it, only after complaining about high fuel costs. :D

First, do you know why the previous owner disassembled the thing so much? I've never seen someone take the whole thing apart unless it's in the process of getting rebuilt. Second, Magnuson only carries a limited amount of parts for the first generation supercharger, hopefully your just missing small stuff.

Here are some pictures of my supercharger before I sent it out for repair, maybe it will answer some of your questions of what you have and what you need.

Not a problem, if there is something else you want a picture of just let me know. I don't have a dynamic tensioner, my supercharger was one of the first kits TRD offered. I have to adjust the tension like the rest of the belts.

thank you, one question in this pic, you have your silver thing(control valve) connected to the boost port, do i need that? becasue i heard it was not needed from texasace on yotatech.

When did you buy a s/c and where? Was it one of the two that one guy on Craigslist was selling? I have no help here, but I'm hoping to pick one up this winter.

I don't think you need it. Like I said my kit was one of the first, they used to come with that fuel pressure regulator thing but I believe they deleted it from the kit years ago (I even have the pre-cut TRD timing belt cover :)). I know the second gen supercharger does not come with it.

So what do they use for fuel compensation then? I just installed my first gen supercharger friday, its running great so far but I am just curious as to why they deleted that from the newer kits. I have heard that before.

The silver thing is an FMU (Fuel Managment Unit). They were deleted from later kits because what they effectively do is raise the fuel pressure. This can be accomplished by simply attaching the boost port to your factory regulator and avoiding the FMU all together (your factory regulator is attached to a port on your stock intake. Attaching it to your boost port on the SC raises fuel pressure when the SC creates boost doing the same thing as the FMU did)

As for your pictures, I will do my best to answer. BTW I bought my kit used about 2 months ago and have put about 5000 miles with no problems or pinging/knocking like some talk about.

Picture 1: That bolt hole is empty on my kit as well. Maybe a bracket that is unused?

Picture 2: The piece you are holding in pic 1 bolts here. I cannot tell you if there should be studs or bolts for the 3 holes but there is no gasket here. You will use the same "red gasket maker" stuff that is sold in the oil change kit from TRD (i believe this is just a common tube of gasket maker you can buy at napa/shucks/o rilley etc)

Picture 3: Yes, the nose cone oil is drained and filled in that hole. (ok, here is a choice you will need to make. you can get the supercharger oil for around $10 from gm. I have a part number if you need it. This will be the correct 4oz you will need to do a drain and refill however you may run into the same issue I did. In the TRD kit, you will also receive a little plastic coupler that connects the drive shaft to the gears in the nose cone. This plastic coupler is known to wear out and when it does, you will get a loud rattle from the supercharger almost like rocks are being shaken inside. The TRD kit is around $60 and comes with your gasket maker material, the coupler, the oil and a new filler plug. The choice is yours. I wasted money on the GM stuff, put the SC on and had to pull it right back off and order the TRD kit.

Picture 3 part 2: The piece in picture 4 bolts here. You will have 4 allen head screws that hold this down which are not shown in any of your pics. Again, you will use the gasket maker here.

Picture 4: You are missing the throttle cable bracket. Dont know where to find one...

Picture 5: This is where the bracket that holds the diagnostic port is located. Yours is missing. Again dont know where to find one.

Picture 6: This is the egr port. Some 4 runners had EGR systems, some did not. You can have a plate made to cover this if your runner does not have EGR. As stated above, if and when you get a 7th injector kit, this is where the injector will be placed.

Picture 7: You are missing a few nuts and bolts. The 3 longest ones are the ones that will run through the intake plenum bolting it to the block. The larger cap head allen (single) is 1 of the bolts to hold the tensioner to the block. The other 4 bolts im not sure on... they dont match anything I got.

Feel free to pm me with any questions
