Personally with a black truck I would go with a gloss black wheel. While I like the flat black wheels, I just dont think they match up right on a black truck. I think it looks almost like you tried to make them match, but they just dont. just my opinion though.

Thanks for the picture of the Titan. Doesn't look too good. The reason I stray away from the gloss black is because I have some massive gashes in my stock rims, and the flat black or teflon seems to hold up better to scratches on the trails.
Guess I'll just keep the stockers for now. :sadwave:
Unless anyone else has any ideas for rims on a black truck? Possibly anyone on here with a black 4Runner and black rims that I missed? I am also not ONLY looking for all black. Some chrome is OK if it's tastefully done, but I am not only looking to murder out my truck. My window tint does that enough.

Josh, those are all good choices...and will look very good. Another option...there will be a 2009 FJ Cruiser Trail Edition (4wd) coming soon...it has a nice beadlock-type TRD rim:
Personally, i would either go with the Procomp (among your choices above) or the TRD ones. My only minor issue with the ATX is that it is too black...your truck will be like a blackhole. Whatever rim that you choose, make sure that it is powdercoated in black, not painted. I am not sure if any truck tires are forged, but if there is any, then get the forged rims. (On my old M3, i had forged rims...it was great at taking punishments from potholes and was only a tad heavier than cast rims.)

I bet those TRD rims will cost a fortune. I was actually thinking about waiting until I find some 17" Sequoia rims for a good deal, and have them powder coated black. Simple, cheap, and should get the job done.
I decided against the ATX shortly after posting that, because after seeing them on a black truck, the teflon comes off as green-ish in comparison with the black paint.
I think it'll be between the Pro Comps or just going the cost effective route and PC the Sequoia rims. I am fairly skeptical of black rims on a black truck (more often than not, they look terrible) so I am going to take my time until I am absolutely sure of the rim choice. I like that the Pro Comp have a little contrast on them with the bead design.

And you really don't want beadlock rims...they are heavy as hell! You can actually run really low pressures (as low as 5 psi from a guy i know) with most off-road tires without unseating the bead as long as you use common sense in off-roading. (BTW, this is why i constantly nag you about proper tire selection.)

I missed this part. Not necessarily...all you have to do is hang out on the FJ forum and wait. Trust me, with the modifying craziness that goes on in that forum, you will have some people who will get rid of the TRD rim and get an aftermarket one...so, you can get one for cheap!
I think the rims I got would look great on a black truck. They are glossy, but the paint or powdercoating or whatever is on there is actually pretty tough. I dont really like the all black look, the machined trim on them makes it look more balanced.
I agree tho, finding a good looking aftermarket wheel is tough, especially on a black truck.
