I can't make up my mind, should i SAS my 4Runner or long travel?
Closest sand or dessert area is about 1.5 hours out.
Fordyce is only 45 min's away. (Rock Crawling Mania)
I've owned plenty of SAS'd rig's before, but never long travel.
Here are picture's of a few of my old SAS'd Toyota's.
Help me decide.

Well...What size tire do you want to run..? Or plan on running a front locker?

I think that unless you can afford some RCVs, solid axle might be your best option. If they were cheaper, I would consider staying IFS over solid axle.

Plus...It looks like you know your way around a solid axle :thumb3:

Just my 02.

I can get all the long travel stuff CHEAP, my cousin is a sponsored baja racer so the cost really doesn't bother me. I would keep my 4WD cause we get snow where i live.

Leave the front open and youll be fine up to 35ish tires!

If you go long travel...I want to see some dune jumping pics!

All three of your previous rigs look built to no expense, and appear like they'd crawl over anything. But if you've already built three solid axle rigs and not sure if you want to go for round four, maybe it's time for something different?

Long travel in a 1st gen / pickup has always sounded really cool to me.

Those 3 had lot's of time and money wrapped up into them, i want to SAS another one but was thinking maybe long travel. I could alway's get another one and long travel it.

Really? Keep me in mind if he ever wants to dump a set of arms cheap. :jump:

Unless you're building a dedicated crawler, I say go with long travel.
