So I have a 1991 4runner... always been into little street cars, but hey it was a free truck to me until I had to put $ into it. Well this am I was backing out of my driveway and heard a small grind, but it went away. I put my truck in drive and drove off. My roomie was behind me and called me and said a large bolt fell out of my truck. I looked down at my gauges and my a/t light came on, my e brake light, and my check engine light. My power steering also cease to work. I pulled it up into the parking lot by my house and looked in the engine bay... don't know where it came from. Got under the truck, can't find it either. Its a fairly large bolt with the number 8 on it. I really have no idea when it comes to this kind of thing. Any suggestions? I just replaced a crap ton of stuff on it in the last 3 months.

I would start by looking at the power steering pully, there should be a nut holding it on, maybe that fell off then the pully and belt came off? A/T temp light and engine light...I don't really know, I suppose it could all be interrelated, but don't know what a missing bolt would do to mess with the trans. Check your brake fluid, trans fluid, and power steering fluid, then check the power steering and let us know what you find. By the way is it the 4cyl or V6?
