Guys, I need your recommendations where to get a complete good used engine (preferrably low miles) for my 1990 toy 4runner v6 3.0L 4x4 5 spd. Thanks in advance

Where are you located? I have a buddy who has 3 of them. I had to buy a rusted out 95 and pull the motor out of that.

Check craigslist. Or you could get a rebuilt one online for 1500-3k. Good luck.

This got me searching Craigslist in my area for a Toyota 3VZ-E.

Came up short .. are they hard to find just sitting around or what?

Pretty much. Took me a couple of months to find a descent one, and I still ended up rebuilding it. My finding were this.. if it ran they wanted too much $ or it was still in a truck and they didnt want to part it out. If it was out of a truck, it needed a rebuild at the minimum.

Not many people know it as the 3VZ-E. I was just searching for "toyota v6" or "toyota 3.0". and weeding through the results. Remember that the veezee was is found in 88-95 Puckups and 4Runners as well as 95-97 (?) T100s.

I bought this one below for 600 Bones. Body rusting off the frame and needed valve cover gaskets done and a exhaust manifold gaskets. I pulled the motor and sold off about $800 worth of parts just on CL and local club forums. And I still have parts left over.

and both motorless.

Youd be surprised how fast stuff comes out when you you know it doesn't have to go back in. I think we had the motor pulled in under 4 hours. Haha. As always, more pics in the build thread.

Try searching greenleaf auto recyclers. I did a quick search and there is one in Monroe and Hull. I'm not from GA so I don't know how close those are to you. I picked one up for around 1k. It had low miles (45,000) and ran before they pulled it from the donor vehicle. It may be a little high for a used engine but I didn't have to do anything other than just picking it up. They had mine crated up and ready to go. Everthing included. (i.e. wiring harness, etc.)
