Need ideas!

i got my 87 body swapped on to my 85 frame. i had to use all the harnesses from the 85. i (think) i have every thing hooked up.... and it isnt runnen. fuel pump is working. get a nice mist to the cold start when cranken, but it fires up for a second and then dies. i gave up on it for the day. gona be back at it tommarow. i have tried both ecu's, ignitors and both circut open relays..... :gun4:

better mention, truck ran fine so im sure its something i didnt hook up, swapped every harness so ofcourse theres something i may have over looked. a few of the conectors under the steering wheel dont seem to have a home, as well as some by the ecu. when it fires up and then dies i can swear that on occassion fuel is getting into my exaust. it seems to weep out a lil where the cat is attached.... i hope i didnt hook up a fuel line wrong lol.......why can anything just be easy?

Is the MAF plugged in? I've been stupid and have gotten so mad due to my engine not running, then I realize I didn't plug in the MAF. :tinfoil3:

X2 on the AFM. Intake tube missing (I've done that!), intake tube ripped, bad wiring connection on the AFM, bad AFM. They should be swappable between the 85 and 87, so if all else fails slap the other one on there.

Might as well double check all connectors for good connection while you are at it. I managed to install the TPS wrong by not lining up the positioner right. Wouldn't run - ECU thought the pedal was floored.

As many have mentioned, the AFM is a good suspect. Make sure the flap moves nice and freely.

all the super obvious shit is right. my fuel pump was suspect before this so im installing a new one in the am. if it still wont stay runnen ill check codes and go from there.

just to let you guys know it ended up being a bad efi main relay fuse or what ever you call it. i didnt test it but had 2 and figured hell ill try it. fkr fired up and purred! thanks!!!!good day at the ranch lol.
