Need input: BFG Mud Terrain KM2 vs. BFG All Terrain

I'd love to get both if had the cash hahaha
Im kinda thinking duratracs is a good competitor in this as well.

How's duratracs on road? And wear pattern is good?
 
you dont need spacers to run 285s... i am running 285s and have no lift. i have a little bit of rub but its not bad, i just hammered over my pinch welds on the back of the fender well and called that good
 
Really? I think childofbodom was saying we needed spacers. But him and I both have the OME lift and you have no lift? Haha damm maybe I should go 285 hahaha

with price quotes i got im down to duratracs vs all terrain.
mud terrain i decided to pull out because of my driving style and how i wont be off roading as much and wouldnt make sense for me to get them.

even duratracs seems like a more offroad type im reading its still pretty good on road?
my main thing i guess now that they are both really good tires is which will wear better and try to get some longevity, if they arent far from each other then next will come which one functions better for my style of driving.

Well if you want longevity and durability and don't require a very aggressive tread pattern, go with Bridgestone Dueller A/T Revos. I have had two sets... wonderful tires... but they suck in mud. Were I in your case I would go with a set of Dueller A/T Revos, an air compressor, hi-lift jack (with rigging), and a set of tire chains (in case of deep mud)... and call it a day.

If you want a good mix of MT and A/T, go with the Duratracs.

If you want a decent performer in all categories, go with the BFG A/T.
 
I have km2s and I use to have bfg at's. I think the at's are a descent tire. My km2s have been okay. I don't think they are worth the outrageous price they ask for them. I got mine for $200 each in 285. The prices have really gone up. I think the good year mtr's are a good tire for the same amount of money.

Check discounttiredirect.com they have some of the best prices, plus free shipping and no sales tax.
 
Sadly to hawaii it's never free shipping.
I was quoted from them like 500 to ship 4 hahaha
That's almost a new set of tires.

Best thing I think for me will be through 4wheelparts. We have a local shop so shipping to shop is free or some tires are 49.95
Or costco haha but they a little pricey
 
update: so i ended up buying 4 duratracs :)
hahaha after days of research and feedback between members i figured that id try them out.
along with the fact that they will last close to the length of all terrains and have more off road capability then the all terrain.
also a personal thing with so many people here on oahu hawaii with all terrains i wanted to try something a little more unique.

i dont know what is wrong with your rims or your set up but mine dont hit at all, i can stick my fingers between the tires and UCA, its got plenty of room... just saying, no lift + 17" tundra rims + 285s = sweet sweat setup
 
Just picked up my duratracs I lucked out. Placed an order about an hour later I got a call saying they have a set locally so went to pick em upright away :)

Waiting now to get them mounted then test at my buddies ranch :) jahahaha woooo

my setup? lol you're the first I've ever heard of fitting without them!

I bet it has to do with the fact that you're not lifted. Since my lift has changed the angle of the UCA (damn IFS), the tire hits the control arm. I wonder if yours will still work with a lift, because without a spacer, there's no way in hell they'd work. LINY had a thread about it once upon a time, too. The tire hits the UCA long before the wheels meets the hub when trying to mount.

For anyone that's wondering hahah the duratracs are very stable in rain. Even going 75 it feels really stable and has a good sense of grip. Then again they are brand new I'll keep you guys posted. Sofar it's pretty good. Like the aggressive look as well sidewalks aren't as crazy as they look in everyones photos. Which to me is a good thing I was worried it looked a little excessive in photos. But great in person!
 
i personally think km2s cake up pretty fast in the mud. i love my ats. but my dad runs a tire wholesale company here in sc and we were talking about kms yesterday and he said "they are just another fad tire, a decent tire but a fad tire" meaning people buy them for the most part bc of BFG.
