So far in terms of handling and value the Pirelli Scorpions have been superior. I am impressed with their snow-ice-slush handling and they track on dry pavement like cat's claws. They are expensive I admit that and the flat spot reported in very cold weather is a question in my mind. Their stability in the corners is better than any Michelin I have owned and they look cool.

I am returning to Alaska in the Fall this year and will post about any problems. That said they get my vote. that along with the 2 cents will buy you a cup of java in the arctic.:biggrin2:

What size did you go with , on stock 17" rims? wow, Sac to Alaska. thanks.

What do you guys consider deep snow? Please tell me that even in deep snow they are better than the stock dunlops??? What tire is better in the deeper snow???

How deep are you planning on going? If real deep, say 1' or so, then get MT/R's. If 2-10", my REVO's were superb. The guy who didn't get too much mileage out of his REVO's probably didn't rotate them regularly, used his skinny pedal a lot or got a bad batch. I would've gotten 60-70k miles if the 4Runner hadn't gotten totaled.

And yes, REVO's are way better than Duncraps in every way.

I think you did ask and I answered but this getting old stuff really messes with your mind man.

I have P rated tires. No need for me to get a heavier rated tire for my uses.

By the way, absolutely no rubbing with these tires, even at full turn. They do fill out the wheel well a bit more and it took a little getting used to for me but I have become accustomed to it. I think offer a comparably smooth ride as the Dunlops, but handle better.

Then again, if I wanted smooth, I would have bought a Caddy or a Buick - it's a truck for crying out loud!
