Need opinion on rust

Hey everyone, I want to know y'all's opinion on how bad this rust is? I have taken a wire brush to a full places, and there is shiny metal under the surface rust but I wanted to know should I just clean this stuff up and start using fluid film or should I be concerned? I have seen pictures of bad rust and this doesn't look as bad as some pictures. This truck spent 6 years in northern states but the past 6 years in Texas. Thanks for your opinion in advanced!

You’ll get all sorts of opinions, but from someone in the rust belt - I wouldn’t worry about it. None of that is likely to develop into a problem in the next 10 years if it isn’t going to continue to be exposed to salt. Unless you’re planning to keep it in pristine condition indefinitely, probably isn’t worth your time or money to go after that

From my perspective, I’d just make sure to spray the bolts with fluid film or wd40 etc regularly so if they need maintenance - not that it looks like any of the areas you show have bolts that need to be removed

Not bad at all. Some maintenance might be a little tricky but the frame looks solid. Heat and penetrating oil will be your friend when working on rusty parts trying to remove bolts.

Take a look at some of the rusted out frames that are discussed in here and you'll realize you've got zero problems.

That's barely even surface rust. Check out this '04 I looked over for a guy recently...Pro tip don't move to New England if a lil rust scares ya.

Looks good from here. My only concern would be if there is salty sand sitting in the frame. I dug pounds of it out of my truck but it lived all it's life in the NE. Couldn't hurt to use water and air to try and make sure there's nothing inside the frame.
