Need opinions from personal experience

Hello everyone,
So im about to sell my Lexus Rx300 and need help deciding what new car to get. I will have about 13k that I can put into a new car. So I hit the internet and came up with the decision to get a 05 or 06 4runner. Then I looked around a bit more and found a few 2000-2001 Land Cruisers that were in my price range. So I am looking for opinions from people that have driven/owned, which should I get and why? Also just for some background information, I live in North Pole AK, so I definitely need a very good off road vehicle. There is up to 3 feet of snow here that stays around for at least 5 months, and there are temperatures that get down to -40 to-60 and stay there for weeks at a time. So considering these factors, would it be better to go for the 6 years newer 4runner or the older Land Cruiser.
Thanks for the help folks!

Not personal experience, just an opinion. The Land Cruiser has the edge off road, but the 4Runner can be modified to greatly increase off road capability. Don't forget, 4Runners come from the factory extremely capable as well. I would say to get a V8 4Runner. Unless you need the space that the Land Cruiser has, the V8 4Runner has the same powertrain of the Land Cruiser, but is more nimble. Best of both worlds IMO.

I love the old land cruisers. When I was shopping for my landrover replacement I almost bought one. But after driving both I preferred the feel of the 4runner. It felt more updated and would handle the Offroad requirements just fine (for my limits). I don't think you can go wrong with either option. Drive both and see which feels better to you. The land cruiser has a great reputation and old aftermarket support.
