Need picture and location of EFI Relay!

I want to check it but have no idea which one it is or where it is. May be causing my misfire? It's definitely something electrical causing it.

I have the 3.slow

I think the 22RE and the 3.0 are both in the driver kick panel above the fuse box. If I remember correctly it is the silver round one. Pics from FSM in here. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/classic-t4rs/118550-where-efi-main-relay-located.html

We have a 1990 3.0, and the EFI relay on it is located on the passenger side fender wall of the engine bay. Definitely worth replacing, and having a spare in the glove box.

FWIW: The efi relay either works or it doesn't. If it didn't work then your engine will not start. I don't think that your EFI relay will cause a misfire. The EFI relay is nothing more than a switch that sends power to your efi system (just the ecu I believe).

Not always, if the contacts are corroded, they can cause a whole host of gremlins that are near impossible to track down. The relay is inexpensive enough($12), it should be considered a maintenance item(ie every 60k or 10 years).

Yea i mean I'm honestly just trying to check everything electrical at this point. 2 Fridays ago I was putting in a new spotlight bulb and accidentally mixed up the ground and the live wire.. stupid, I know. The wire was only connected for maybe 3 seconds, but it got EXTREMELY hot and killed my two overhead lights, and clock. Problem was no blown fuses that I could find. So i took it for a spin to take this girl out that night and the thing was sputtering REAL bad. Could feel the misfire real bad with a jerkiness feel.

Any ideas for what I could have done to the truck that would make it mis like that? Definitely electrical. I may start a new thread soon to figure this investigation out.

Grab a multimeter and test your efi relay to rule it out. There's a test in the FSM for that.

I would be willing to bet that you fried a ground or hot wire somewhere in your wire harness. Follow your wire harness from the wires that you connected and inspect the wires for any hot marks in the sleeve and look for any bad wires and ground spots.
