You specified 4 Runner, not a truck. So how can you make use of this?

The 1st Gen 4runners have rear cabs that are removable and you can put on a soft top instead of the hard shell

Soft tops

There are a few manufacturers of 4Runner Soft tops. Specialty top co. (Used to be Kayline). Can-Back. Tropical tops. The One from Can-Back is very expensive (~$2800.00 Canadian delivered) and it uses tape to hold some clips on the tailgate and can have a rack mouted on top for storing things. The one from Specialty top is about half the price but requires considerable drilling into the truck, including the tail gate. I can`t find much info for tropical tops except that it is a great bikini top. Dealers in the US have a dicontinued part number for the soft top. Another company in Texas made about 40 wicked tops (rear window worked) and went out of business. My avice...Get one custom made.

Can-Back and SunTop convertible tops

Hi. I have two convertible tops that I'll be parting with soon, probably on eBay. My '88 4Runner is currently up for bid now on eBay (without the two convertible tops). That auction ends 5/30/05 at 11pm EST.
